A couple of things:
Hearst columnist Lee Mortimer was a dick, the "Gregory" of his day, always hounding and taunting Sinatra. Thelast straw was when he called Frank a "Daigo". The best story I heard about Sinatra, was after Lee Mortimer death, Sinatra went to his grave to pay his respects, and pissed on it!
As far as Tommy Dorsey, he made Frank sign a lifetime contract with him that he got 50% of EVERYTHING Sinatra would make for life, no matter if he sang with him or not! Frank could have left anytime and paided the bum from his records and movies.Frank must have been desparate to sign a contract in the first place, but if I had mob connections, I would have had Tommys fingers snapped as well to get out of it!

Thelast straw was when he called Frank a "Daigo".Yes, that was Sinatra's version of the story. Nobody else there on his side of the altercation was willing to talk about it in court, so who knows.

Well, yeah, but the documentation was great!

Sinatras attorney during the affair was Harry Claiborne, future law partner of mob lawyer Oscar Goodman, who would himself be investigated by the Justice Department in 1979 for allegedly channeling Mafia bribes to Nevada Gaming Commissioner Harry Reid.

Perhaps the most absurd point in the hearing came when Sinatra was questioned about a 1976 photograph of himself standing amidst various members of the Gambino family and Jimmy Fratianno with his arms around his neighbor Tommy Marson and Gregory DePalma.

Great research, but you should NEVER criticize the Chairman of the Board in such a way! -:)

LOL!
Frank Sinatra and the Mob
The committee members, apparently intimidated by Sinatra, virtually apologized to him before they were through. Representative Charles Rangel, of New York, who was a beneficiary of Sinatras fundraising, told him, ''Youre still Chairman of the Board.''

Lot of fans forgive Frank's fraternization with the mob saying he had to pal around with them b/c they owned all the clubs where he sang to make a living.

Sinatra's fabled career---its peaks and valleys--- allegedly served as the basis for the Johnny Fontane character (played by Al Martino) in the 1972 movie, "The Godfather." Fontane's floundering career in the film is put right thanks to "mob" muscle.

It's pretty hard to work in those clubs without brushing shoulders with them, but of course saying hi to them in a nightclub is obviously a different degree of fraternization than running a casino for them, etc.

Not surprised in the least. I pride myself on my ability to 'read' people, and it's an ability that has served me well.
Reid is a p*ssy......complete wimp. Anyone like him has GOT to be 'owned' to have survived NV politics for so long.
