Anger over Australia abortion remarks (How long befoe Muslims riot?)

Lawmakers on both sides of the political spectrum have reacted angrily to comments by a colleague suggesting that Australians were aborting themselves "out of existence" and that the country was at risk of becoming a Muslim state.

Danna Vale, a lawmaker from the ruling centre-right Liberal Party, told reporters on Monday she worried that immigrants from Muslim countries could eventually outnumber native-born Australians if the current rate of abortions continued.

Her comments came as members of the House of Representatives prepared to debate whether to strip regulatory control of an abortion drug, mifepristone - also known as RU-486 - away from Tony Abbott, the Health Minister, and hand it to the country's main drug regulator, the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

The TGA has control over all other drugs in Australia, but a 1996 law shifted regulatory authority over RU-486 to the health minister. Last week, the Senate voted 45-28 to hand control of the drug back to the TGA, a move expected to pave the way for the drug to be cleared for use in Australia.

Explaining her opposition to the bill, Vale said: "A certain imam ... actually said that Australia's going to be a Muslim nation in 50 years' time."

Controversial remarks

"A certain imam ... actually said that Australia's going to be a Muslim nation in 50 years time...I didn't believe him at the time, but when you actually look at the birth rates...we are aborting ourselves almost out of existence by 100,000 abortions every year"

Danna Vale, Liberal Party

"I didn't believe him at the time, but when you actually look at the birth rates and when you look at the fact that we are aborting ourselves almost out of existence by 100,000 abortions every year ... that's five million potential Australians we won't have here (in the next 50 years)," Vale said.

An outspoken supporter of the bill and fellow Liberal Party member, Amanda Vanstone, the Immigration Minister said Vale's suggestion that people from Muslim countries might eventually outnumber native-born Australians was "completely ill-founded."

Vanstone said: "That's just a complete misunderstanding of how our migration programme works and where our source countries are. I just don't know where this idea has come from. It's just not possible."

She said most immigrants come to Australia from England, New Zealand, China, India, South Africa and the Philippines.

Personal experience

One of the bill's co-sponsors, Sen. Lyn Allison - who last week told the Senate of her own personal experience with having an abortion - slammed Vale's remarks as "outrageous."

Allison said: "They're very unfortunate from almost every point of view. I think the prime minister should come out and say that was ill-considered and that she ought to apologise."

Members of the opposition Labour Party have also called on Vale to retract her comments, labelling them bizarre.

Kevin Rudd, the Labor Party's spokesman for foreign affairs on Tuesday said: "Everyone's entitled to their point of view but that's seriously a weird one."

,,, no respect at all for diversity of opinion, is there? Models for funding just about everything are based on crisis projections into the future and here we have a leftie upset over such a possibilty.

This thought has crossed my mind too. In NZ the government has a professional group of dullards that spread fear and gloom over 400+ who are killed in road accidents each year, quite often thru inefficient road design. There's never any mention of the 18,000 abortions that the same administration funds each year though.

Telling the truth is just so...tacky.

The imam is right, that is how Islam plans to take over Australia. Why was no one outraged at his statement? Danna Vale has it right.

Hamas chief Khaled Mashal said this during an address at a Damascus mosque on February 3, 2006:

“We say to this West... By Allah, you will be defeated. You will be defeated in Palestine, and your defeat there has already begun. True, it is Israel that is being defeated there, but when Israel is defeated, its path is defeated, those who call to support it are defeated, and the cowards who hide behind it and support it are defeated. Israel will be defeated, and so will whoever supported or supports it.” “Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact. ”

Whatever ~ the Libs are clueless. Thank goodness, though, that the Lib marginal rate of abortion is sufficient to almost totally eliminate them in about 35 years.

This means, of course, that they will lose control of even Victoria State in about 15 years.

We've aborted over 40 million out of our workforce here. No wonder we need the illegals to keep our economy going. The Aussies will need someone to do the same for them if they abort their future workforce out of existence, be they Muslims or otherwise.

My observation is that both sides have the same point of view in that they don't want Australia to become a Muslim nation, n'est ce pas?

With or without abortions, every single European/"white" country in the world is below the replacement-level birth level. Usually (not always) this corresponds to higher birth levels by non-white groups, and in Australia, this is not aboriginies, but immigrating Muslims from Pakistan, Indonesia, and so on.

You know, crusades against abortions are ridiculed as a "pelicularly American thing" that only those nutty-American-fundamentalist-Christians do. Any time you see someone speaking out against porn or abortions on TV3, you can safely assume he must be a Muslim or an East Asian Confucian/Buddhist/Taoist. And TV1 (government) will even never air anything against social liberalism.

Welcome to the crux of the coming culture war. While the West aborts and contracepts itself out of existence, the Islamic world is procreating like mad.

And I say this as a father of three, with one on the way. If young people in the West don't start getting serious about becoming mommies and daddies soon, our kids will inherit a world much different--and much more dangerous--from the one we grew up in.
