WASHINGTON -- Iran is prepared to launch attacks using long-range missiles, secret commando units, and terrorist allies planted around the globe in retaliation for any strike on the country's nuclear facilities, according to new US intelligence assessments and military specialists.
Alerts US and Israeli officials have not ruled out military action against Iran if diplomacy fails to thwart its nuclear ambitions. Among the options are airstrikes on suspected nuclear installations or covert action to sabotage the Iranian program.
But military and intelligence analysts warn that Iran -- which a recent US intelligence report described as ''more confident and assertive" than it has been since the early days of the 1979 Islamic revolution -- could unleash reprisals across the region, and perhaps even inside the United States, if the hard-line regime came under attack.
''When the Americans or Israelis are thinking about [military force], I hope they will sit down and think about everything the ayatollahs could do to make our lives miserable and what we will do to discourage them," said John Pike, director of the think tank GlobalSecurity.org, referring to Iran's religious leaders.

The shortsightedness of the American left is stunning, even the Europeans seem to be realizing this nutjob is a serious threat.

We shouldn't go after the nuclear facilities. We should go in to decapitate the government. Specifically that looney-tune who calls himself president, every member of the "Guardian Counsel", every commander of the Revolutionary Guards and last(but not least) the head viper supreme Ayatollah and total spastic viper Khameni.
Shoot them all in the head. Most young Iranians are totally sick of those bozos anyhow.

I'm tired of this that is always said. Let's sit down and talk with them, whoever they might be. No matter what is talked about the fight will come. Get it started so WE can get it done. When I say WE I'm in there too. If they want a fight let them bring it on WE will finish it for them.

actually europe waited until hitler had annexed a few different things and finally drew the line when he and stalin divided poland, even though they didn't declare war on stalin as well and eventually let him keep poland among other countries (i.e. poland got screwed).
In many ways the rhetoric coming from Iran and its long-name president reminds me of Hitler in pre-war germany more than any leader of a credible country I have seen in my lifetime.

I think this means Iran has terrorist stooges attack with car bombs US assets in Europe and the world such as US Embassies and consulates. Buildings that house US businesses too

This info is most likely being put out into the press to analyze Iranian military assets being shuffled around due to an "impending threat".
Our military is much smarter than to show their hand during the preparation stage. Iran is a much different geography that Iraq, so the Penta-dudes are releasing disinformation as part of their preparations.

Bush needs to stop jogging and get this attack going.
It's priority #1.
No time to waste.

It should be a cold day in hell when we take instructions from mudslam anythings although it is starting to happen. I like the decapitation idea as do they and "firsties" will definitely count in this battle of survival.

I couldn't agree more. It is sooo tiresome to have to listen these asswipes constantly threatening destruction to anyone who disagrees with their plans to enslave the world with their horsesh*t religion and barbaric ways.

The alternative...living under growing Islamofascim, is worse. It's a lethal cancer. It has to be cut out, radiated, obliterated. We have no choice.

If we act, suggest we follow General Wood's example made in Samar Is., Phils. about 1905. Fast, thorough and without remorse.
