TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran's president threatened to revise his policy of working within international atomic frameworks, as diplomats in Europe said the UN nuclear watchdog agency had stripped most of its surveillance equipment from Iranian nuclear sites.
The diplomats, who demanded anonymity in exchange for revealing the confidential developments, said the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency had been left with only the most basic means to monitor Iran's nuclear activities.
In a speech before tens of thousands massed in Tehran's Azadi Square to mark the 27th anniversary of the revolution that brought a Muslim theocracy to power, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad focused on the building crisis surrounding Iran's disputed nuclear program.
"The nuclear policy of the Islamic Republic so far has been peaceful. Until now, we have worked inside the agency (IAEA) and the NPT (Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty) regulations," he said.
"If we see you want to violate the right of the Iranian people by using those regulations (against us), you should know that the Iranian people will revise its policies. You should do nothing that will lead to such a revision in our policy."
The crowd in the square chanted: "We would fight, we would die but we will not accept lowliness!" -- referring to Iran's refusal to give in to outside pressure.
What a missed opportunity to rid ourselves of this vermin. Why not take advantage of the fact that the worst of the worst in their country were all in one convenient kill zone?
WorldNetDaily.com: "ALMADINEJAD TO IRANIANS: ISRAEL 'WILL BE REMOVED'" (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The crowd, numbered in the hundreds of thousands accoding to state media, responded to Ahmadinejad's defense of its nuclear program -- believed by U.S. intelligence to be an effort to acquire atomic weapons -- with cries of "Nuclear energy is our undisputable right," "Death to America," "Death of Israel," "Death to Denmark."" (February 11, 2006)
The IAEA is a joke. Think about it, it's run by a guy named "Mohammad". I doubt it's any coincidence that places like Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, north Koria manage to get well into the nuclear bomb fuel manufacuring stage before they are "discovered". The IAEA is useless, the UN are a whole is useless, infested with leftist lunatics, communists and the Mulla Mafia. Things develop to this stage because the UN doesn't work, in fact it works to destroy freedom, and western christian based culture for favor of being the government itself.
I heard during the rally, Demark was added to the list of "Death to" chants.
I really wonder whats going to go down with Iran in the next couple weeks to months.
Iamjihadijad keeps begging for a asskicking.
Everything is on their list of "Death to" chants, even muslims themselves, they blow themselves up! It is the death cult, they are obsessed with only one thing and that is death. Just as an example I posted on another thread asking about the ridiculousness of this cartoon stuff, and asked "what`s next, death to Teddy bears"? and some freeper wrote me back saying that in fact muslims have protested over teddy bears! They protest everything, and how do they protest? By calling for death! Everything is on their death list, even Teddy bears! They are the ultimate death cult.
I've said tounge in cheek for years that those Danes were the real problem in this world. Gotta feel for them at this point.
Radical islam IS to a large measure what is wrong in this world, along with frenchmen wearing speedos.
"It is the death cult, they are obsessed with only one thing and that is death."
Truly, you are right. And I have been noticing a very disturbing trend in all this cartoon hoopla. The liberal elites, who for years have done nothing but mock Christianity, deride and defame it as a myth and just BS, seem, somehow, to accept Islam and Mohammed as "truth", not that they believe in Truth, but they seem to be willing to extend that courtesy to Islam, that they have spent at least two generations denying to Christianity.
Not good.
Ya'll the world is just effed up! I hope we can fix it but i dunno.....
I am fine with this. The deeper the hole hes digging gets, the more reason we will have to go in and kick his butt, which should have been done a long time ago. Also I saw pictures of this event - a MOAB would have cleaned things up nicely, eh?
They've got that part right.
I disagree with everyone (in general).
The Iranian people want to be treated with respect.
Their government does not want to tolerate having nannycams everywhere, just as we wouldn't.
Their leaders are the ones that can make a difference in whether the atomic industry is used for peace and defense or war and attack.
They already have the plutonium and breeder reactors. They already have missiles. So does everyone else.
They have been doing a lot of saber-rattling, but it will continue only as long as it can be used to gain power. When the terrorist activity in Iraq goes to nil (bout a week), and immams are busy taking care of people rebuilding their lives, their country, then the rally calls may taper off.
Let's say Iran wants to equip and launch missiles asap.
Will that get them their goal? remove the infidels?
Not really. (Not all Muslims want all 'infidels' murdered. Who are they gonna sell the cheap lighters to at the gas stations?)
The people of Iran want to live, and want to use nuclear power, instead of oil.
Darn, I thought that was a good thing. Maybe we're just not listening to what they are saying.
Tell "everyone."
I reserve the right to make flippant remarks on FR when I choose. Freedom of speech and all that, you know.
I know more about the situation in Iran and how the people feel than you probably think I do.
I also very likely have a different perspective on the potential fireworks in Iran than you do.
And a sense of humor is essential to me.
With this, I absolutely agree. I know this for a fact. Most of them don't want to murder us and most don't hate us.
But Iran does have some looney-toon leadership right now.
Ahmadinejad bears close scrutiny right now.
Not all Germans wanted to exterminate the Jews either, but that didn't seem to slow Hitler down much. Many of the speeches by Ahmadinejad sound like they were plagerized from Adolph himself, and just had the name of the nation changed. Every day this guy remains above room temperature is a day too many.
I've made it a point to watch the talking-head shows today to see if Iran is discussed to any degree. My guess is...
-- crickets -- crickets -- crickets --
Good for the people of Iran, but what they want or don't want doesn't matter an ounce. They don't live in a free country. Their leaders want weapons, they don't care if they or their people die in retaliatory nuclear fire.
If Iran was free and democratic, or at least run by tyrants who weren't complete nutjobs or wide eyed religious fanatics, then it would be a different story.
Their government does not want to tolerate having nannycams everywhere, just as we wouldn't.
Sure we would. We and the Russians send teams to inspect and inventory each other's nuclear weapons constantly, and have for years and years. "Trust but verify"
Ummm...that was my point.
Good money says Iran will make a side deal with the euroscum at the last minute and the US will have to face this alone...as always.
On that note, anyone who thinks that they need nuclear weapons to be respected probably shouldn't have them. That's like saying "I need a Glock in case I get dissed".
