I’m embarrassed to admit that after all these years in politics I failed to interpret your previous assurances as typical rhetorical gloss routinely used in politics to make self-interested partisan posturing appear more noble. Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won’t make the same mistake again.

The right wing could say the same for Senator McLame. Look, I'm glad he socked it to Osama the Junior Senator from Greater Chicago, but hell--McLame has done the same posturing and smugness against the base of the Republican party.

So keep hittin' the lefties, John. Just don't expect that behavior to make up for your atrocious attacks on your own President and party, okay?

The Senate has a rule against Senator's calling each other liars. However, McCain pretty nearly did that with Obama.

Actually, I figured out what he was saying in the first 20 words.

But McCain continually stabs his own party senators in the back.

...Oh yeah, that wasn't him campaigning for and winning a second term for Bush in 2004!

I tend to criticize McCain, so I'm more than glad to be fair and balanced and applaud him for this letter!

Be careful and remember the old adage: "One swallow does not make a summer."

Personally, I'm not impressed. Smacking around a first term junior Senator from Illinois doesn't take any skill OR courage. Let's see McPain try this crap on Her Hillariness and see how far he gets with it.

...stick around, you'll get a front row seat come 2008!

Well, well, well. This reminds me of the John McCain I once respected and found hilarious. I've not seen or heard from in in a few years.

Wonder if this is the start of a trend on his part...

Can you point me to where I said anything about Bush?

I know for a fact he promises other senators that he'll support them; then, at the last minute, he casts votes against them and walks away without saying a word.

Live with it.

To have this letter made public and posted on his official website seems a bit self-aggrandizing. In the spirit of his letter, I'll say that McCain would never resort to such a cheap tactic to get media attention. What's most disingenuous is the supposed candor in this letter. Watching him clap like a toy chimpanzee banging symbols together at the SOTU was a sad and sickening sight. I don't care what letters this clown writes, he's still a d*** in a suit.

McCain won Bush's 2004 election huh? LOL

Absurd.

BTW, McCain flirted with being Kerry's VP. Your darlin' Senator was a wash as an asset in that campaign. Continually giving a compliment, then tossing one Kerry's way to negate the one for Bush.

Please: from now on, let's refer to her only as MRS. BILL CLINTON. :)

So....the Democrats have managed to offend both Specter and McCain. Two of their strongest allies.

They are off to a great year, huh? Typically RINO's have always believed being RINO's and stabbing their party in the back earned them better treatment from the Democrats. They seem taken aback by the fact Democrats think of them no differently then they do other loyal Republicans (probably think worse behind closed doors).

"I have a hard time believing this is genuine. It's more insulting than Senators usually act."

Probably because the quality and character of "Senators" today, is a far cry from those that served our country from its inception....

Kennedy, Clinton, Leahy, Durbin, Schumer, Biden, Boxer, Kerry, Reid, Levin, Murry, Rockefeller, Wyden, Lautenberg, etc, etc......
Get the message?

Another possibility, this may be McCain's first swipe at one he assumes is a likely opponent in his march to the White House...

On it's face it's great but underneath I see McCain positioning himself as a dedicated, sincere conservative, a man committed to principles. I think not.
