Through the use of nanotechnology, we will be able to manufacture almost any physical product upon demand, world hunger and poverty will be solved, and pollution will vanish.Possible this time. But the same claim has been made about many other technological advancements in history. Hasn't worked so far, although in 1st World countries the definition of poverty has changed so much that a poor person in the US or western Europr today is probably better off materially in absolute terms than a lower middle class person of a couple centuries ago.

biology will never be able to match what we will be able to engineer once we fully understand lifes principles of operation. Theres the rub - it will be a _long_ time before life's operation is _fully_ understood.
