Their wild overreaction (Must read: The Islamic World's Cartoonish Overreaction, Inferiority Complex

Angry demonstrations in the streets. Official protests to European governments. Boycotts of Danish goods. Death threats against journalists. Over what? Twelve cartoons in a Danish newspaper.

Whether or not you agree with decision by Jyllands-Posten to publish the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, the reaction in the Islamic world has been far out of scale to any offence given. In the Gaza Strip, Palestinian gunmen besieged the offices of the European Union. In Jakarta, Muslim activists protested outside the embassy of Denmark and burned a Danish flag. In Pakistan, mobs of students shouted, "Death to Denmark."

Bernard Lewis, a British scholar of Islamic history, calls this "a twilight world of neurotic fantasies, conspiracy theories, scapegoating and so on."

He means this place, right...? :)

If the peoples of the Middle East continue on their present path,...

I misread it as people of the Middle Earth....

When a few simple drawings, however controversial, can trigger outrage from Cairo to Kuala Lumpur, it is clear that something is askew in the psyche of a civilization. To put it plainly, the Islamic world has a chip on its shoulder.

I don't think I'd use the phrase "chip on its shoulder" exactly.  islam clearly produces an inferior culture.  One in which rationality and some level of tolerance, cooperation and compromise is impossible to achieve.  It explains why every country with a significant muslim population is several centuries behind those of its civilized counterparts and why the question of whether islam could ever be compatible with evolved humanity has been answered in the negative.

The question today is whether or not muslims can coexist with mankind, and they're making a strong argument that they can't.

"He means this place, right...? :)"

That was TOTALLY uncalled for. If you look at my previous postings, you'll see that I've savaged the Muslim world. I do it because they behead innocent people, fly planes into key buildings, start wars everywhere they reach a high enough percentage of the population, mutilate girls, abuse the heck out of women, and get a total free pass from the MSM, as some kind of victim group that needs to be "understood".

But in all those postings, I have NEVER said that they are as down in the gutter as Democrats. Even given everything said above, and much more, I still have more respect for the Muzzies than today's Democrats.

So please, apologize for the comparison, you have been unfair to Islam.

You hit the nail on the head. Everything about islam is inferior. Everything about islam is a failure. Something islamofascists are in denial about.

But "if they can abandon grievance and victimhood, settle their differences, and join their talents, energies, and resources in a common creative endeavour, then they can once again make the Middle East, in modern times as it was in antiquity and in the Middle Ages, a major centre of civilization."

Well said, but American born citizens can't overcome a life of victimhood while living in this country, how on Earth will they ever do it while swilling around in their own turds.

Islam clearly produces an inferior culture

Religion is merely a manifestation of a society's culture. If Islam didn't exist, its practitioners would simply create another belief system that supported suicide/homicide, paranoia, chauvinism and failure.

The problem isn't Islam per se (even though it provides a useful marker), it's the neurotics previously confined to the sh*t-holes of the world who can now reach out and 'touch us' with a WMD.

They did that at Ground Zero?

I'm surprised that someone didn't stomp th holy H*ll out of them and jam those placards up their sheets.

Heck, I'm disappointed that no one counter-protested.

Yes, ground zero.
I believe they were a protest to some other activity being held.

I am somewhat surprised that they weren't beated and hauled off by an angry mob, given that NYC lost 1,000s of people murdered right there, but it is Hillary's playground, after all.
