Whoa...........do you mind telling me why your broken feet weren't set?

Actually, I had two back injuries which are a significant part of the reason I like my feet flat on the ground.

Long story, short version. My stepfather broke them. My mother let him. Treatment was not allowed. I still have a lot of difficulty walking any great distance. About 15 years ago I started bruising under the arch of one foot and it felt like I had a saw inside my foot so my doctor X-rayed it and there was a bone chip floating in the arch, about the size of a dime. That was what was cutting my foot internally and causing the bruising and pain. The doctor said that because the bone chip had broken away, it would dissolve into my system eventually (he was right), but the other structural damage is not currently fixable by any method I know of. The less rigid a shoe upper is, the less pain it causes. I discovered early that tipping my weight forward via wearing heels was not a very smart thing to do.
