Yes! And when I am exercising regularly, I can't stand it when I can't. It's like drinking a lot of water. At first it may just gag a person to try to quaff 64 oh zees a day. But once you work your way up to it, you can't stand not having that much; you get thirsty for it.

What we call court shoes.

In Britain when we say pumps that is sort of an old fashion word for trainers

I found an amazing diet that I'm planning to post some day.

It's completely balanced, loaded with fruits and veggies, and it actually seems to be changing my metabolism by the way the foods interact with each other chemically.

Best thing about it. You only go on it for 3 days, and some folks have lost 10 pounds in those 3 days! (I lost 4........the first 4 I've lost in about 6 or 7 years!)

Sometime when it's not this late, I'll tell you more about it, if you're interested.

I do have good teeth. Didn't have a cavity my whole childhood, and then only got a few when I unknowingly used cough drops that had sugar in them in college.

It didn't hurt that I was raised by a dentist either. GOOD oral hygiene from birth. :)

I would definately be interested in the diet. The thing I miss most on Atkins is fruit. I would kill for an apple or a pomegranite about now!

Will do. I've already started changing my diet so now I just have to get the exercise part going.

Your names for them make more sense than ours. Except that we don't have court, so I guess the shoemakers had to contrive something new.

That's what's best about this. You eat a whole lot of food, and a balanced, albeit weird diet, and end up losing weight.

I've lost a total of 8 pounds since I started, but that was over Thanksgiving and Christmas (and a wedding, and an anniverary of our first date ;) so I gained some back and lost it again.

You have to keep in mind that I always am careful about what I eat, and have been working on losing for years, to no avail.

This is sort of a miracle for me. A small one, but a nice one.

My husband checked it out with the clinical dietician at his hospital, and she gave it the green light. And it's only three days. You can do ANYTHING for three days!

(Maybe I'll post it this weekend....)

The problem I have with any kind of real diet is that I'm at school. So I don't have much of a choice. I'm doing what I can. I've been eating more vegetables and trying to stay away from the cheeseburgers. But there's only so much I can do here. We do have the cafe, though, which serves subs and salads and I go there if the cafeteria is serving something REALLY fatty like fried chicken or something. Or sometimes just because I want to.

I know what you mean. My kids have been, or are still in college. You're limited in what you can do.

At least it's better now with salad bars and fruit to choose from.

When I was in school, we had starch dinners with starch on top and starch for dessert. There was no hope.

And in addition, girls didn't have the use of the gym because..........well, girls were just girls, and the guys needed to have it (which was why I was a feminist back then :).

It was a tough thing. Fortunately back then I lost weight easily, and lost what I had gained throughout the year when I got home for the summer.

Time for bed now! Nice talking with you, ilovew. Hang in there, kiddo!

I tried to prchase a calendar. Had troubles with my credit card - seems they'd changed my address back to Virginia AFTER I had given them my NEW address. I have no idea why.

Anyway, I flunked the credit card purchase, didn't bother to go back and try again when I got credit card company straightened out, and next thing you know, I got a calendar in the mail.

I'd mail it to you except I sent it off to the guys on Ward 57 at Walter Reed. They need it more than I do. Each guy will take the month that corresponds with his Birthday, until they are gone! Wish I had more to send.

Last year, I got 20 of them, free, from the RNC when I told them what I wanted to do with them. The President arrived about a week after I had given them out - and signed many of the pages from that calendar. I'd like to think that he heard about me, and how I've been giving out HIS calendars to the guys!!!
