"Brokeback Mountain" and a slew of other arty, less-widely seen Oscar-nominated flicks are expected to take the polish off ABC's ratings for the Academy Awards this year.
With no big-budget films like "Titanic," "Gladiator" or "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" in this season's crop of nominees, ABC may be staring down the barrel of one of the lowest-rated Oscar telecasts in recent memory when it airs on March 5, say TV-industry analysts.

I know I was in the fight on the last thread. I just think that the movie was too important to not go because of that. I was definitely given many reasons why my thoughts were wrong, but in the end I hope it does not matter and Hollywood does not use this movie as an excuse not to make anymore.

It is as well done as BBMountain?, probably not, but it certainly has 1/50th of the PR as BBMountain.
Heck, End of Of The Spear is not even being shown in Hollywood, I have to drive out to Burbank to see it.

I wouldn't watch it except my cousin is nominted for best documentary...(of course, it's of a leftist nature), but hey, every family has at least one? Right?

Bob Hope never won an Oscar, but was a giant in comedy and selflessness in going overseas and entertaining our troops year in and year out! When the entertainment industry failed to honor this man, I realized they were beyond their own pathetic world. Maybe Fox will show the Passion of the Christ!

Yeah. Well, Hanks is always good. I thought Denzel Washington was the best actor in the film. But why the heck we were supposed to think the law firm was evil for firing somebody with yucky sores all over his face, I'm not sure. Not exactly a rainmaker look. Oh, well.
You're probably right that we could find better things to do. However, I will watch it. How else could I make fun of it later.
