The Case for Joe Biden
MSNBC (Newsweek) ^ | 1/31/2006 | Ron Goldstein

A long time political consultant argues that the senior senator from Delaware is the Democrat’s best shot -----

There are several ways we choose our presidents. During the primaries, we may vote for the person who looks as if he or she will perform best as a candidate—someone who “looks” presidential, who seems savvy with the media and who will represent our best interests. At the last moment, we might pick the candidate who seems to have the best head of steam—the person who could actually win. Others vote for the candidate they believe would make the best president, based on intellect, personal skills and public-service experience. Still others vote on single issues—abortion, taxes, defense, foreign policy, education, moral values, health or the environment. A final group casts its ballot for geographical reasons, the “home state” or regional candidate.

As the Democrats cast about for a candidate who can win in 2008, I want to make the case for Joe Biden. After 34 years in the Senate, Biden can appeal to voters on nearly all of the above criteria. He’s familiar to many voters—from his (admittedly verbose) questioning during the Alito hears to his passionate arguments in favor of U.S. intervention in the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s.In fact, Biden has held public office far longer than any of the new crop of possible presidential candidates (he was elected at the age of 29) and is an influential member and former chairman of both the Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees.

The senior senator from Delaware has an appealing media persona:

[snip]

Now his family is fully grown and it’s Biden’s turn again. My prediction: The senator would make a formidable candidate for the democrats and a great president for the nation.

you can't make this up, can you? Biden as president!!!! Oh my gawd.. I think I strained something laughing so hard..

FYI..Biden was on the early segmetn of Harball today. In response to a questin from Matthews, he replied, "That's above my pay grade." He's said that for years..it's almost his signature line..and if he formally declares, a commercial can be put together, if not done already, of Biden saying it about 100 times...

Joe Plugs Biden is another blow-hard empty suit.If he ran for president he would receive the same amount of votes as that other loser John Kerry.I'm still amazed at the number of people who could cast their vote for a fraud like Kerry or a wooden weasel like Gore. When a party has a sawed off midget like Howie Dean as its leader,it makes an ignorant buffoon like Plugs Biden look great.

Yes, and unless I'm mistaken, Allen has a full head of his own hair sans plugs.

I think the cardinal rule for electing a president: they must have their own hair.

Great pic, btw! LOL!!!!!!

Jor Biden is as dumb as a stump.

The more I see him, the more I have to shake my head.

And he really believes that he has the potential to be president?

You Decide:

Future President George Allen, son of football coaching legend George Allen.

Or;

Present Loser John Kerry, son of a b@tch.
