Byrd is a bad one but he is being consistent in this case. I heard him say years ago that he thought the Supreme Court should be conservative and the Legislature, liberal.
I don't know what his reasoning is but he did say it.

This whole thing is incredible, considering the former HEAD LAWYER for the ACLU got over 90 votes.

I think he likes the idea that Alito was tied to CAP in his college years, Byrd being a Grand Kleagle and all.
