Don't fool yourself if Democrats had a change of defeating Alito he would vote with Democrats all the way. Right now Byrd knows he is in race for his job and he would be hurt by voting for Alito plan and simple. All Byrd cares about is own skin and his job.

I've been saying, Robert Byrd is by no means the worst Dem on Capitol Hill... Oh I agree. Sens. Kennedy and Schumer are 1 and 1A in my book. Old "Sheets" is just, well, old. And wrong most of the time.
