Why does this country still exist?
The mullahs have put the U.S. and the rest of the world in a position where we have to act and invade now or we will have no future what so ever.
But since most "enlightened" people think the story told in the Megillah is a myth, I suppose it doesn't make much difference.
Because the moslems invaded Persia in the seventh century of the common era, and the few z*r*astrians left (the Parsis of Bombay) don't believe in reconverting it, since G-d supposedly puts us precisely in those religions he wants us to be in and we're not supposed to change. In other words, Iran is supposed to be moslem now.
Another Iranian religion, bahai, says that all the world's religions and their scriptures are all simultaneously valid. The Iranians seem to have invented western religious liberalism.

Why does the United Nations still exist, especially with "neocons" now joining the "palaeos" in their original anti-UN position? Can you get any more ecumenical than that?

Savage had a very well informed caller last night talking about Electromagnetic Pulse Weapons (nuclear) that will knock out all un-protected electrical devices.
I'm speculating if "coma" might be code for EMP attack.
They had one of those in last season of "24"
I have met, and traveled with, two girls from Iran (while I was traveling in Turkey).
They were quite leery of me at first because I was an 'American' from the Great Satan. As we got to know each other better communication increased.
They both said that they could never stand to live in Iran again because of the conditions there... once they had lived in a open society it would be impossible to go back. They went back different times to visit - but as far as I know they never went back to live in Iran - and they left about 5 years ago.
They were and are just ordinary citizens.... how much power to you think they had over their government?
How much power do you have over our government?
Do you think you would try to speak out if you KNEW that you would be arrested or worse for speaking out?
So they keep their head down and try to live their life as best they can. They hope, and dream for a better day.... but there is very little they can do other than leave.... and they can only leave if they are lucky.
Oh well, so I go by the gentile calendar. But still, it would not cause a lot of complaint among decent people of all kinds if the results of the original Purim were repeated in the upcoming Purim. "Just a-swingin' in the breeze!"

There aren't enough good folks or they would rise up and smite the mullahs. Too bad because as you say there is a beautiful culture there.And don't preach to me about weapons, A look at the 9-11 boys would show you don't need sporty weapons.
