I don't think they will hold this over until the SOTU Address. Either way he is going to be in the audience, either in the gallery with Laura or in the front row with the other justices.
My predictions: Committe vote on Alito - January 24 (not the January 17 as scheduled); floor vote on Jan 31 (not the Jan 20 currently scheduled).No prediction regarding Specter.
In fairness, I predicted during the hearings, while they were going really well, that the DEMs wouldn't delay. So no matter how it goes now, either way I'm wrong. ;-)
