I agree. Its sort of a "soft filibuster." This way they can pander to the NARAL and NOW nutters for a few days without risking the loss of the filibuster to the nuclear option.
You would think that the dems must not be all that optomistic about getting rid of Bush over....
the NSA scandal, the Abramoff scandal, the Katrina scandal, the Valerie Plame scandal, Tom Delay, the WMD scandal...
because if they thought they were going to take him down over one of the above...they wouldn't worry so much about Alito...because the only way his vote could potentially become a problem...would be if/when Bush gets another nominee...

Greetings, FRiends. Today has been a troublesome day for the 'Rats. We put them on suicide watch. We're checking in every 10 minutes or so waiting for self-hurting behavior.
Right now...on c-span 2 they are replaying a hearing about Flood damage...
and on c-span 1..there is a repeat of a hearing about, lobbying reform...and I just saw a shot of Voinivich with his "sad face" on...I wonder if he cried.

...and this is the worst part. Reminds me of all those TV preachers preying on the old and lonely and having them send money. Reid and Co. are the TV preachers and NARAL, NOW, etc are the old and lonely.

The DUmmies were offering $10 to each Senator that would filibuster....
Somehow....I think President Bush...and "all the President's men"...will eagerly have hearings into this...because there is no way that the dems can come out of this looking good...
Either way...they come out as more outraged at Bush for looking for terrorist threats...than the terrorists themselves.
Remember, Biden left the committee Tuesday when it was voting so he could go to Israel to monitor an election. But he could be back by the weekend or early next week in time to vote against confirmation.
