Haven't heard of any so far. But look to Chaffe, Snow , or Collins for any no votes. I haven't counted yet but I don't think we need em anyway.......

They better not!

Chaffee, Snowe and Collins voting against Alito wouldn't make a differnce in the outcome of his confirmation anyway. THose votes are driven by consideration of viability of GOP as a whole, and by weighing risk of personal re-election.

All three are out-front and bound-up in the gang of 14 too, which colors the perception of their votes.

I just think that Alito is a small issue in the mind of the public. The DEMs have not been able to make him into a bogeyman.

Maybe Reid had another stroke and Frist had to go do surgery on his brain!

Some dim-bulb congressman last night was bragging that Clinton had the authority, but they took it away from Bush and, thus, Bush broke the law.

I estimate 60-61 ayes for Alito.

If not 60, do the Dims filibuster?

I got really mad...because Durbin was so sanctimonious...it was disgusting...he was telling Bush that he has to come to them...in order to do what he wants..

Hello .. There is a reason we elect a President as the Commander in Chief

Plus ... I would also like the Dems to make up their minds

Earlier today they were saying the Supreme Court trumps Congress and makes laws

Any way...for some reason..they stopped a few hours early...and Harry Reid NEVER made an appearance..and John Thune closed down the Senate..not Frist..

That is odd ... I think something is up too

Gee, McCain was only one step below him... they ran a very weak dim against him last year. Wish we had the same situation this year against Kyle.

''Maybe Reid had another stroke and Frist had to do surgery on his brain.'' .......LOL!,,,,,,Thats good but I was thinking more on the lines that Reid is begging Frist to please let them ''SEEM'' like they are about to stage a filibuster for a day or two, and let a lot of the DU dummies write a lot of big checks to the RAT party and then when it looks like it is about to happen the RATS will cave and say ''NEVERMIND''!

Durbin saying members on both sides of congress would be happy to give the President the "OK" to change the laws to fight terrorism. That is a utter lie. Dashel use to brag about how they shot down Bush's requests on FISA

I don't think one can fight a war with having to run to the Congress getting permission to micromanage the war. That is why the CIC is spelled out in the constitution as the one who "operationally conducts the war", in layman terms.

OT....Hannity had some ex-general of Saddams on....and he says that the WMD's were moved in 2003...when Saddam knew the Americans were coming in...

and that they were moved by air and land to Syria...

Of course Bob Beckel....got him to say there were no nuke weapons that he knew of...so that will be the goalpost...unless nukes..then the claims of WMD doesn't count...sheesh.

Thank You for recognizing my long term outlook.

I've been suggesting a primary challenge to Ricky for the past two years. After watching how the party absolutely CRUSHED Pat Toomey when he challenged Arlen....it's easy to understand why no one has come forward. It's now impossible to get a would be citizen-legislator or a would be citizen-senator to challenge the candidate annointed by the party. I still believe that Ricky will lose, and it's precisely because he alienated much of his core constituency.

With respect to electing a true conservative.....Rick was elected when he ran as a true conservative, not when he ran as a moderate. His current shift to the left only ticks off the conservatives, and I doubt very much that he'll pick up a corresponding number of votes in the center, or on the left.

"I think it's due to his medical training and bedside manner which makes it very difficult for him to be an AH when called for, and in this case it could be called for..."

I do see Frist sometimes as a bit of a wimp, but on the other hand it could just be a sign of someone who is really a diplomatic and tactful person.

"W" has consistently shown class, politeness, and reserve when confronted by spastic, mindless critics. Quite unlike the retards who are currently calling themselves "democrats."

Beckle is a moron if he tries to claim that chemical weapons are not and danger or a threat to peoples lives

Let'em try and make that argument

There are pictures of a lot of dead Iraqis to prove him wrong

LOL. He has no conservative agenda. Read the bills he's written at http://thomas.loc.gov.

He is quite fond of using the internal revenue code to incentivize....ie pull the puppet strings......He's using the social engineering tool of the left....and in the end, the tax payers pick up the tab for his largess. Nuts to that. He's a socialist in sheep's clothing.

"There is no vote. That's an unofficial tally of position..."

Thanks for letting me know, I was unable to watch, just quickly saw a vote count.

I appreciate that you are supportive of Mike Pence....but I'm more than a little tired of being called a troll, or an opinion shaper, or a disrupter simply because I exercise my right to hold the party accountable and I refuse to march in lock-step like a mind-numbed automaton. I'm not a troll, an opinion shaper or a disrupter.

I still think that sending "one of our own" packing with the clear message that it's because he's spending our money on old socialist programs WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY PROPOSING NEW ONES!!!!!!! would do the party a world of good. Think of it as a long overdue trip to the woodshed for a party that is out of control.

This what is up at DUmmieland...and also what Randi Rhodes is talking about on AirAmerika...they think there is a chance for a filibuster.
