Yes on some, no on others.

I too have thrown in the towel on the liberal-like, RAT-like GOP.

However, you have some false reasoning/associations. Bush has little to do with, nothing to do with, or it is not his responsibility for, or he SHOULD have the power for:

1] the economy --he has little to do with it
2] the Patriot Act --he should have all necessary powers to protect us.
3] Katrina? C'mon! Not his job. Bush was very stupid for "accepting blame".
4] Right to Life? Not the job of the president!

You are correct on other points. The most vital is "Limited Government". Many of us have given up on the GOP with just this one single point.

You could have shortened your comments by simply stating "LIMITED GOVERNMENT" and ended it right there.

The GOP will go down in flames in 06 and will lose the White House in 08 because they have made a mockery of "Limited Government", so much so that we can not even afford to fund military R&D and major weapon systems anymore.

I doubt it. The masses vote pocketbook first, and at least one poll shows a significant majority of Americans (moreso GOP than DEM) will give the government more power to encroach personal liberty, given the justification of protection from terrorism violence.

As an aside, I wonder why draw the privacy line there? Why not intrude to limit all violence? A child is just as dead if its mother or father kills it, as if Osama does.

The specific "loss of civil rights" issue now in the air is the NSA/electronic surveillance issue. I think that will play-out to the GOP favor. "We're at war" doncha know.

Limited government?

As in I live in a cabin in the woods, grow sorghum and trap and shoot my own meat, limited government?

Time to move into the real world, which is a bit more complicated than chinking those logs in August.

You are wrong. Not mistaken; wrong.

With most of the "spending" increases, there are very intersting increases in the amounts and/or quality of who is paying attention to what. Domestic Violence? We have documented proof Islamo-obsessed trends towards assaults on females, children, and males (not associated with Islomafasicm).

And, in re the other "big expenditures", we see necessary and very needed core infrastructure maintenance, repair, and/or "refocusing" items. Not just for the sake of "infrastructure"; but for tracking domestic, USA, terrorist networks and operations.

Two terms of Clinton, predominantly focused upon "social programs and largesse" have left the US quite open to not only disrepair (in re infrastructure) but for growth in links to terrorist network operations under various guises of "corporations" and networks.

Most legit corporations, and even those moneyed liberal organizations and leaders -- are aware that following the money is the bottomline, and that they too could become quite ensnared into if not under an operation which could destroy their own financial interests.

The rule of investments is -- you gotta put the money up front.
