"I took up the same subject in my column for this week, posted on FreeRepublic, and appearing this morning on ChronWatch.com. My language is harsher, and I get to the point faster, than this writer. But I reach the same conclusion..."
I must take exception to your critique of your article vis-a-vis Mr. Steele's. Your conclusions were not his. You may have reached yours faster but his were closer to the truth and more profound than your polemic. His writing brings us so much closer to the truth and more importantly, understanding that truth. That you can point to Mr. Steele as merely "this writer" shows either your ignorance of his writings, or your disdain for them. You were right in one aspect however, your language is harsher.
There is a reason that the poster titled the thread "Shelby Steele Hits A Home Run To Dead Center Field". It's because he has hit a home run to dead center field. It wasn't his first and it won't be his last. Someday you may too so keep swinging. Meanwhile, your I-said-it-first-and-better repost(riposte?) was smarmy.

"Fantasies about a conservative black woman breaking the back of the Democratic Party for good are delicious..."
I agree but man, it's right up there with winning the lottery!

Once black grievance is morphed into liberal power, it need never be honored. President Clinton notoriously felt black pain, won the black vote, and then rewarded blacks with the cold shower of welfare reform. And here, now, is Mrs. Clinton sidling up to the trough of black grievance, eyes wide in expectation, but also a tad contemptuous. It is hard to fully respect one's suckers. Nuff said...

And there, on TV last week, as if to illustrate this truth, was the specter of Mrs. Clinton and Al Sharpton embracing at the podium, mere captives of power making the tired charge--via an encrusted plantation metaphor--that Republicans are racists.Well said.
To: zarf
I haven't read the thread yet, but this phrase was striking to me.
Does she really see us as she projects us--as a people so backward that our support can be won with a simple plantation reference, and the implication that Republicans are racist?
Since most black people vote democrat when they have received nothing of substance from democrats for decades, OF COURSE it seems that simple to Hillary. Why would she think differently?

Wasn’t that the photo op where she used the faux-Southern accent while talking to a black audience, and got caught at it?

You might be right. The “accent” added insult to injury - - Hilly and Billy have no shame.
