Excuse me, but there is nothing inherently wrong or inconsistent between what dead posted and the info in those two blogs you linked. Both of them have the same story -- which is different from what dead posted.

Alito's Wife Leaves Hearing Room in Tears, Comforted by Gwen Kopechne
by Bachman @ 1:12 PM. Filed under Politics*WASHINGTON (Washington Post) - The wife of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito left his confirmation hearings in tears Wednesday.
Martha-Ann Bomgardner, who had sat behind her husband for hours of questioning over several days, left as her husband was being questioned by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
"Judge Alito, I am sorry that you've had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this," said Graham.
Moments earlier, the senator had asked Alito, "Are you really a closet bigot?" The nominee said no, and Graham said, "No sir, you're not."
Graham's exchange with the nominee came after withering questions from several Judiciary Committee Democrats.
While out of the room, Alito's wife received a call of encouragement form Gwen Kopechne. Mrs. Kopechne told Bomgardner (Mrs. Alito) that while she understood the emotions that caused her to leave the room, she should be thankful her family member being abused by Sen. Edward Kennedy was still in the room, and not in the back of a Buick at the bottom of a pond.
1. Mary Jo Kopechne was born in 1940 while Martha Alito was born in 1953 - thirteen years later.
2. Ms. Kopechne was raised in Pennsylvania while Mrs. Alito was raised in Kentucky with family roots in Oklahoma and Texas.
bump
I think we're about to find out how much this site is being visited by the MSM. Even they can't resist the temptation of at least looking into whether this is possible. Were the two ladies living near each other at any times in their lives?
Make sure to email this to all your frinds 10 times and toyota will give you a new car if not you will have bad luck. LOL
Reminds me of the neighbors of Lizzie Borden, (acquitted) who told there daughter that they shunned Miss Borden because "she was unkind to her parents".
You can believe it or not.
Seriously?
Her husband sitting in judgement by Splash must be enough to make her want to spit, much less cry.
"I hope Kennedy's enjoying himself now, because he's going to have some serious problems when he passes on. I doubt God holds the Kennedy name in the same esteem that the Democrats and MSM do."
I have a feeling that all of the Kennedy men are going to be meeting again in the same special place in hell.
The Democrats are killing 1000 children a day, every day. 29.5 Million people since Roe v. Wade are dead, and you think this crying thing is going to shame Kennedy into retirement?
Please.
They must have according to the thread's poster.

I was told that they were family friends. I have many family friends far more separated from me than 13 years. A family friend could be fifty years separated from you.
2. Ms. Kopechne was raised in Pennsylvania while Mrs. Alito was raised in Kentucky with family roots in Oklahoma and Texas.
I thought that might be a problem with the story too, but it's not:
Martha-Ann Bomgardner was born in Kentucky, but moved to Mount Holly Pennsylvania after her father, an air traffic controller in the Air Force, was transferred to McGuire Air Force Base. She is a 1971 graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly. Source: PhillyBurbs.com
The paragraph is there, and I agree, it doesn't appear in the WaPo article. Easy enough to check that out.
I posted for two reasons. First, the assertion at the linked page is dated January 12th. If that date is accurate, the "story" (true or not) has been floating around is some circles for a week. Second, to note that dead is not the only person making the assertion.
Neither of those points makes the assertion factual, nor does it make it a fabrication. They are merely data points for fact checking.

Done!! OMG, I can hardly wait for the new car!!
As for the relationship, I must have misread that Ms. Kopechne was a childhood friend rather than a family friend.
I do............. this would allow many, many more younger Americans to learn of the real sick Ted Kennedy.
