MANY S.F. SCHOOLS TO CLOSE OR MERGE
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | January 20, 2006 | Heather Knight

In front of a crowd of angry parents, teachers and students...

San Francisco's Board of Education Thursday night voted to close, merge and relocate more than a dozen public schools...due to declining enrollment.

The board did its work during a five-hour meeting before hundreds of angry parents, students and teachers who filled the Everett Middle School auditorium and occasionally shouted -- or wept aloud -- as the panel voted on a case-by-case basis.

The first vote hardly caused a stir in the crowd: the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program will be merged into Rosa Parks Elementary School...

But when the board voted to close John Swett Elementary and merge it into John Muir Elementary, Dawayne Baker, a volunteer basketball coach at John Swett, burst out of the auditorium.

In the end, the board decided to close four schools, spare six from closure and relocate or merge many others -- all to save $2.4 million, about half of the $5 million goal.

"These were modest changes,'' said board member Dan Kelly after it was all done. Kelly had supported more changes but did not have a majority vote of the board.

"We should have closed more..."

San Francisco Unified School District officials say they have lost 800 to 1,000 students every year for the past five years, a trend expected to continue for the next five years.

The board and district staff agree they cannot continue to operate the same number of schools with such a severe drop in the student population.

The $5 million represents the amount of money lost this year in per-pupil funding from the state.

The 26 schools were chosen by district staff because they have fewer than 250 students and use less than 75 percent of their building capacity.

Now, since they have to employ fewer people, will they also reduce taxes? I think not.

Oh, that's right. Homosexuals can't reproduce.

**San Francisco Unified School District officials say they have lost 800 to 1,000 students every year for the past five years**

No mention of where these students have gone? Enrolled in private schools? Charter? Private home education? Families moved to more affordable areas and enrolled children there? Drop outs?

Eventually a high level of homosexuality combined with a very high abortion rate will result in the closure of schools and the firing of teachers.

This is how the Democratic Party dies, not with fire and ice, but with a baby's throttled cry.

They did increase the pensions of those not working however so parents and working people are burden again at the expense of the non working.

"due to declining enrollment."

Since queers don't reproduce, lieburrals are fond of killing their young before birth and many people (conservative, responsible and moral in nature) are now either homeschooling their kids or sending them to private or religious schools, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the schools in a cesspit like San Fagcisco are declining in enrollment.

Mainly families moving out of the districts, according to previous reports.

"Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program will be merged into Rosa Parks Elementary School"

How do you say "Move to the back of the bus." in Japanese?

Not only doesn't the current culture in SF reproduce, no one with kids can afford to live in that city.

Multiple factors:

1. Massive decline in birthrate in area because of reduction in breeding couples.
2. Annoyed citizens taking their families, moving to free states.
3. Net loss of population - not enough people moving to SF to replace people leaving, most people moving to SF are gay and won't have children.
4. Given the stupidly high prices in SF/CA, would *you* want to have children and the expense that goes along with it? Far easier to just use birth control.

the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program will be merged into Rosa Parks Elementary School...

Oh, yes, the wealthy and successful Japanese of SF are definitely going to buy into that...

How can we buy stock in Japanese private schools?

They don't exist. Fewer students enroll than graduate. Liberal reproduction rates are lower than conservatives'.

That was my first assumption. They're all moving to the city I live. The schools are wayyy overcrowded here.

San Francisco democrats murder children with abortion and absolutely loathe "breeders" (families). Of the 16 states with the lowest fertility rates, Kerry won all 16 Blue states.

Of the 26 states with the highest fertility rates, Bush won 25.

SF is the ultimate Blue State example of why the evil democrats are doomed.

I like the way you think.

Buy Japanese private school stocks.

...more students will be leaving the San Fran government school system.

What will the teacher union bosses do now ?
