Your Mental Attitude - Days of Chivalry

When the days of chivalry are mentioned, we usually think of a gallant knight rescuing a fair lady or treating her with unusual courtesy. Gallant the knights were-and certainly cour­teous…But the fundamental basis of chivalry was friendship. The Knights of the Round Table were a sworn brotherhood of men whose strongest ties were based on friendship. Perhaps the most celebrated knight of chivalry, the Chevalier de Bayard,
was famous above all else for his friendships.

Friendship is loyalty-to our family, to our job, to our community. It is not veering and tacking like a rudderless ship or playing both sides of the street
or using people just for our own advantage.

It is made up of little things-a thoughtful word at the right moment… a little kindness beyond the call of duty . . . a sense of under­standing of the other fellow’s problem…a genuine liking for people . . . a sense of re­sponsibility toward our associates.

It has often been said that we must BE a friend to HAVE a friend. And, like all the worthwhile things in life, friendship takes work and effort. We cannot take our friendships for granted. They are like the food we need at regular intervals-they must be given constant and diligent nourishment . . . We can no more get along in the world
without a friend than we could without food or the air we breathe.

One of the important things we learn is that friendship involves tolerance for the weaknesses of others-as these same people are tolerant of our own shortcomings . .

It was warm...er yesterday, but the storm blew
in. Our back porch was covered with a blanket of
snow & it's roofed... the cat really appreciated that.
He stood around shaking his paws off constantly.
I haven't had a problem with the weather 'cause
I've stayed inside, where it's warm & dry. ;-)

Good thing that you stayed dry and warm.
It is harder to get sick that way....;-)

Sadly, not really... my s-i-l works in a daycare. Parents send
their kids in with all kinds of illnesses, you'd be surprised.

Yes, I know.
But you do not work there. ;)
Even when someone in your house is exposed to
all kind of things, the chance for you to get
it, it's minimal.

Seriously, she always brings home stomach bugs. There
was one night, my mom & I were both sick. I ended up
sleeping on the bathroom floor, telling everyone I was
NOT moving 'cause of what would happen if I got up.

I can almost see it....yikes!!
I think stomach bugs are the worst!

Yeah, she doesn't usually get sick, but
some of us do. It's... not.... fair!

Yes, they are quite bad... & parents bring their kids
to the daycare & make everyone else sick. *sigh*

However, it hasn't been like that in a while... maybe
the place has started refusing to keep sick kids.

Most parents do not care if their kids are
spreading bugs around. As long as they have
their immediate problem solved.

Yeah... I noticed we haven't really been sick in a while
though. Makes me wonder if there's a rule now or something.

Looks great. I need to relearn using the tables to put things on top of others. I got too used to compositing!

Noone messed with me, I was on the floor &
I was staying there. I felt badly enough it kept
waking me... I finally got tired of getting up &
laying back down. So I took a blanket & layed
in front of the sink, everyone could step over me.
I've never been quite that sick all at once before.
Usually it's over the course of a few days & thus
not so "powerful", if you know what I mean.

Thankfully I haven't really been sick since, just allergies.

Hmmmm.....hope this is so. How is winter going? We got about 6 inches of new stuff yesterday.
