There were 12 reports to CPS on this family. 12!!!!!! And none of the charges were followed up. The parents are pure EVIL and the stepfather should be put in the general population at Rikers instead of protective custody. You know what goes around comes around.

I don't disagree with you - but like I said before, a report to CPS is not to be taken lightly. I'm sure that in a case like this, I would have taken that step. (Although apparently, in THIS case, CPS was too UNDERzealous, based on the other reports. They were probably too busy harassing some Christian homeschoolers or something.)

I agree with and understand what you are saying. We can't go off the deep end and start reporting everyone who looks at their kids crossways. That's happened in the past. Some overzealous school person, neighbor, etc. will report what they think to be abuse and end up ruining innocent lives. Then we hear about cases like this where, from what we are reading, abuse seems like a very real possibility and it's not followed up on.
