EXCLUSIVE: Pakistani Military Sources Say Zawahiri May Be Dead

Jan. 13, 2006 — Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

I imagine that DNA tests are being carried out on the body parts. It would be fiting that this monster die in the same manner as his victims -- blasted and smashed to pieces.

Well, I for one want to know if Bush broke any laws regarding this CIA airstrike.You just know that when The Swimmer returns from his weekend sojurn to the local bars, he will call for GWB's impeachment over this "unlawful" airstrike. Biden and Leahy will hurry to bring the weeping villagers over to testify.

I don't know who carried out this attack and why. We were needlessly attacked. We are law-abiding people. I think we were targeted wrongly You have long sheltered the men responsible for thousands of deaths only a few of whom were military people. You celebrated when the Towers were bombed in NYC and have pledged death to anyone not sharing your vile religion. When you lie down with murders, you don't always get back up.

LAST UPDATE AT 8:15 pm ET. CNN reporting a CIA airstrike against Al Qaeda's #2, Ayman al-Zawahiri in Pakistan - CIA got "good reporting" on al-Zawahiri's presence in a building and it ordered the Predator airstrike - could be visual confirmation soon but weeks before confirmation through DNA tests
Why do I have this hunch we had eyes on the target.

ABC is virtually the only one reporting terrorists being hit.
Some papers are reporting airstrikes some report a single rocket strike.
Several are listing the dead by name and age as largely civilian women and children.
The US military denies launching any strikes.
CNN is saying it was ordered by the CIA. No one else is reporting this

Remember the video tapes that got left behind in a big hurry from that safe-house in Kandahar,Afghanistan in late '01? That was Osama, the good doctor and friends having a pow-wow before the Tora Bora campaign.
