In a strange way, this reminds me of the OJ incident when he was mugging for the TV cameras with a banana pretending to be a slasher. Many people said it was a psychological unconscious call for help.

Could Kennedy writing about a dog named "Splash" also be an unconscious call for help on his part? If not, it would still be fun to speculate about it on Talk Radio for the effect, especially during the Alito confirmation hearings.
