The problem is a GOP which has decided pandering (buying) for votes (of Democrats) is a way to get re-elected.

The "solution" is to remain steadfast to one of the platform principles of the GOP.

Lol, once upon a time -- a Republican who actually vetoed a spending bill.

Lol, once upon a time -- a Republican who actually vetoed a spending bill.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Reagan vetoed higher rates of spending than what we have now. The result was that Reagan signed similar high spending rates to what we have now.
