Hillary Clinton's own private grudge match
Mobile Register/AI ^ | January 07, 2006

WITH THE Supreme Court nomination hearings set to start soon, the liberal attack dogs are out in full force. But Samuel Alito Jr. is far from being the only nominee whom the liberals are badly mistreating.

The latest victim is one about whom the Register has editorialized before: Brett Kavanaugh, currently staff secretary to President George W. Bush, who has been nominated to the Washington D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The culprit in the most recent mistreatment of Mr. Kavanaugh, and his longtime nemesis, is Sen. Hillary Clinton. When President Bush asked that all pending nominees be allowed to stay on the Senate agenda from the 2005 session to the 2006 session -- a move that usually is a formality -- an unnamed Democrat objected, causing the nomination to lapse.

Republican and Democratic sources alike say that the objection, and a long-running "hold" on the Kavanaugh nomination, were effected by another Democratic senator at the direct request of Sen. Clinton -- who apparently wants to be able to deny formal culpability for the parliamentary maneuvers.

Why is Sen. Clinton so particularly vindictive toward Brett Kavanaugh? Apparently, for simple revenge. Mr. Kavanaugh was an important mid-level attorney on the staff of Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr, whose investigation of course is famous for leading to the impeachment of her husband.

But the senator's vendetta against Mr. Kavanaugh is misplaced. No less an authority than famed Watergate journalist Bob Woodward reported in his book on the Starr investigation that Mr. Kavanaugh, then only in his early 30s, was the voice of wisdom on the Starr team. Mr. Kavanaugh was one of two key lawyers who urged Mr. Starr not to include all the prurient details of the Lewinsky affair into the counsel's main report to Congress.

No slight (real or imagined) is too small to be overlooked by the beast.

It is sad but the MSM does not follow up on crap like this. They give the Democrats and Clintons especially free passes when it comes to using FBI files to blackmail people. They excuse them when they have the IRS to audit their foes. They give "Chuckie" Schumer and his "Plummers" free passes on Lt. Gov. Steele and give Kennedy and the rest of the liberals free passes on buying and selling "Judgeship's" and yet they call the Republicans crooks. Also lest not forget the big names in the Democrap Party that are also tied into Abramoff. This crap is unreal!

Have any seen this ad?

Dueling Alito Ads
A liberal ad suggests Alito can't be trusted. A conservative ad says he's admired. We supply context.
January 5, 2006

Summary

A liberal group's ad says Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito didn't keep his word when he took part in cases he had promised to avoid while a conservative ad quotes a "respected" journalist calling Alito "widely admired" and "fair-minded."

Both ads are accurate as far as they go, but there's more to it than either of these 30-second spots can tell. We supply details.

Analysis

The liberal coalition IndependentCourt.org released a 30-second ad on Jan. 4 questioning whether Alito can be trusted to keep his word, saying he broke a 1990 promise to step aside from cases that might pose a conflict of interest. IndependentCourt.org is a project of the Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary, whose members include People for the American Way, the American Civil Liberties Union, the AFL-CIO, Moveon PAC, NARAL Pro-Choice America and others. Their 30-second ad, "Keep," is set to air on national cable news and locally in Maine and Arkansas.

This unnamed mess has got to stop.

Own up to your actions.

If you have a problem block them and put your DAMN name on it.

Damn I hate this and many other ways senators can worm out of commiting to what they believe or get around something and not be named.

Any Gurus out there know how to overturn this totally ABUSIVE policy or standard?

The Senators need to grow up and become accountable for what they are responsible for. I am not talking about donations. That is hard to hold someone to account for. too many middle people between the head of the snake and where the sname gets the donation. Now if it could be proven they knew the money was dirty that is a different story or that they did favors for the money.

"The Senators need to grow up "

You've nailed the main problem. In reality, what would be best for America is to impeach the entire senate now. Get rid of all the 100 morons who occupy the seats and put in newer, younger, fresher representatives for our 50 states. I'm particularly sick of the payoffs, the old cronyism, the career senators. They are old dead wood and need to be cut down. They need to put the security of America FIRST, ahead of all else, so that we can win the war on terror.

Yes, she who never forgets might be mortified as the new story erupts about her stupid spouse's massive mistake in providing the Iranians (in the 90s) with a Russian nuclear scientist who turned out to be a double agent. Not only did he crap all over the CIA in this debacle but he gave the Iranians nuclear technology to bring them to where they are today.

Gee, thanks clintoons. Without your "service to the country" Iran might not be a nuclear threat!

I believe that because of their vindictive ways, she nor her husband will live to be 70 years old. They will dissolve from the inside out.

Near as I can find, Rush should have a copy. Barbara Olsen was going to give it to him in early '00

Don't worry, I'm sure Rush gives copies of documents like that to a few trusted associates, and Hillary Rodham Rodham know this.

More stuff ...

http://patterico.com/2005/12/27/4093/kavanaugh-screwed/
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/special/clinton/stories/shadow061599.htm

Assuming for the sake of argument that Hillary! is the person behind the return, it seems a more likely reason is that Kavanaugh failed to complete his mission, which appears to be reasonable coverup of Foster evidentiary disputes and the stifling of other evidence from Starr report. That is, not that Kavanaugh is an enemy of Clinton, rather, he is a failed soldier.
