If Iran doesn't accede to their demands, representatives of European governments have threatened to ask the U.N. Security Council to look into the matter.

Oh, that should scare them.

Military strike against Iran may be necessary

Well, I didn;t think that sending them a box of candy or a singing telegram would do the trick.

IF WE ATTACK, it should not be limited to just the nuclear facilities. We will show that we learned nothing from 9-11. These people don't need WMD or missile delivery systems to do harm to the Great Satan.

We should announce that ANY meddling in the affairs of Iraq will be considered an act of war, and that "not only will you lose your nukes, you will lose your country".

Amahdinejad was "elected" at precisely the moment when Iran realized the Great Satan was going to win in Iraq. The proximity of the US military has caused the Mullahs to believe they need to COWER the Pentagon into hesitating. So they played the good-cop-bad-cop "we will nuke Jerusalem" card. It is LUDICROUS to believe that they would WARN a country which has approximately 200 POTENT nuclear weapons and nuke subs in the Mediterranean which would result in Iran being turned to glass.

They are not crazy, they are calculating, and afraid. Our goal should be complete decapitation of their government, limiting our goals to taking out their nukes would be counterproductive in my view.

Let the Israelis do it...
I'm sure they have a lot of old ordinance laying around they'd like to get rid of.

IMHO, a strategically placed bullet into the cranium of a certain Iranian nut ball would be more effective and less radioactive.

May? MAY??????

I think it is conventional wisdom amongst the bring-the-fight-to-the-sheetheads crowd that Iran is on the imminent-target list.... the only question remaining is: Who will do it; the US or Israel?

Its a lose -lose situation for the USA. How long can we afford to put it off?

The instant we attack Iran we will come under attack from Europe ,Russia, our own liberals. All who agreed that Iraq had WMD then denied them after we attacked.

The UN is useless,Most of Europe is useless and frightened of the Islamics in their midst. Our Military isnt large enough to take out all of those who need to be taken on.
Why attack Iran for Nukes without cleaning out the nest in N. Korea that is feeding on them. China wants us to attack N. Korea so they can attack Taiwan. That prick in Venezuala needs his tension adjusted also.

All of these situations wouldnt exist if Europe had helped us in Iraq. Those opposed to Democracy have seen that the US and Israel are the only two countries in the world they have to defeat. The others are already defeated.

The British newspaper, the Guardian, says the report cites 16 Russian and 30 Chinese front companies that are at least partly owned by their respective governments which are helping Iran obtain the weaponry materials it needs on the black market.

Does it ever occur to China, to just give Iran several atomic bombs? These bombs could be transported into Iran.

In this day and age, with Iran's dealings with Russia ,China and Pakistan, I find it hard to believe Iran doesn't already have a couple of atomic weapons and a local delivery system. - tom

Cooked intelligence.
The Islamic street will rise up.
Better order 250,000 body bags right now.
The Iranians aren't anymore ready for self-government than the Afghanis and the Iraqis.
The brutal Springs and Autumns of Iran will bog us down in a quagmire.
No War For Sand!
Depriving Islamic Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons will only create more terrorists.

I'm going through the motions of my daily life knowing that it may be all about to unravel, knowing that at best we're going to have to have an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation with Iran. Then I look at those around me and realize that they are blissfully ignorant that this is what is coming to us. Pray.

Will this be a "wag the dog" war to take our attention away from the Abramoff fiasco? By the time the conflict with Iran is over, most people will have forgotten about Abramoff.

Under the circumstances, I would think the ENTIRE Congress would support such an action against Iran. God knows, they're probably ALL guilty. Maybe not with Abramoff, but there are other cash cows who provide money and other benefits for their votes. I've wondered about Daschle's wife. I'm sure he's helped many RATS to prosper from her dealings, and he's probably received some cash or other benefits from her too.

Ah yes, Steve Forbes and Melanie Morgan. Not a minutes military experience between them yet all of a sudden they're General Patton.

IMO, if we do NOT take preemptive action against IRAN BEFORE they build a nuclear arsenal, it is only a matter of time before they they nuke Isreal.

When that happens if we have a gutless Dim in the White House you can count on our nation NOT responding and ultimately our nation will be a feckless paper tiger and mired in BONDAGE to Islam.

If the White House is occupied by a "HAWK" and retailiates with Nukes that just may be ARMAGEDDON.

Either way only serves to ENHANCE the preemptive strike as the ONLY OPTION that is viable.

"strengthening my argument that the United Nations is a gutless organization"

I think useless, would be a better word.

The arguments that this article makes do have a few merits, however...
