MSNBC reports on today's Washington Post poll which shows 53% of people favor Alito's nomination. Even split even among democrats, the pollster Richard Morin says.

Which other media outlet?

This is a strange case of an anonymous listener and ranch supporter who may work for the WSJ who is tipping Imus off to an upcoming piece on him by some other organization. I assume we will be hearing more details in the coming days.

Sorry, but I got to get back to DO-178B training if you know what that is.

Meema, maybe you can add something when you review the tape.

OK. I went back to recheck Evan Thomas for YaYa, 'cause I didn't catch anything we didn't know the first time. He briefly touched on Sharon, Alito, etc. etc. and then told Imus, in answering a leading question, that he didn't think there would be any criminal charges against any more than 2-3 Pubbie congresscritters. Imus was, of course, disappointed.

Leadpenny, remember I don't type fast enough to do a "running commentary". LOL :-)

This anonymous letter writer said he/she said that this new expose would make the WSJ article look like a puff piece (my words, not his). Not to mention the Vanity Fair one. He thought that Imus had 'cleaned up his act' and that he and Diedre didn't go to the "resort" anymore.
However, he had heard that the Imus's had gone to the ranch for 2 weeks over Christmas for their vacation. He hoped that Don would take this WARNING SERIOUSLY, this time!
Imus yelled and yelled about how HE RUNS the WORKING RANCH, and if he wanted a vacation he would go to his place in Connecticut and relax. During the past year he, Imus, had given $350,000. to the ranch of his own money, and if anyone wanted to give the same amount he would take them to the ranch. And if anyone wanted to investigate him, they should contact Eliot Spitzer. Also if people wanted to continue to harass him they would find out what trouble THEY could get into! Personally AND professionally!!!
He doesn't know who this person is, but he just may want to find out!!!

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
(Some paraphrasing, mostly in quotes)Love you all. :-)

Leaving for a bit, it's way past time for me to take my shower.

What did I miss? Why are we taking a shower?

Seriesly, good transcript there. Did Imus ask Evan Thomas the Newsweak Cover story question. It's amazing that these guys don't even know what's on the cover of their own magazine sometimes. Liberals!

LOL!! My shower for the month? Or for some other reason?Ya' think?

Seriesly, thank you, Sir, for the compliment.
Yes, I think he did ask the cover question but it didn't make an impression on me. It was an Abramoff cover, I think. And I think Evan knew it was, this time.
I still haven't listened to The Dodd Interview. Maybe I'll do that now, since I've left Rush about 20 minutes ago.
See you later. :-)

Whoops! Arial Sharon is the cover of Newsweek.
My bad. Evan talked about Abramoff for the first 5 minutes, which messed me up.

Great job, meema, and much appreciated!

What a nice thing I just saw on Gibson's afternoon FOX show. Former Attorney General Ashcroft was on, looking very well, and of course, in support of Alito.

Then here comes the Judge...the good natured, good haired Judge Andrew Napolitan, (sp), who told us he has known Alito since they were freshmen in college.

THEN. hot damn, my lucky day, Ken Mehlman came on. This guy is just the best. I wish he were on tv everyday speaking up for President Bush. Ken said the democrats are going to have to decide who are their constituents going to stand with, people who recognize Alito as the most qualified judge in 70 years, or are they going to side with the extremists.

Mehlman explains why Alito is more qualified than Roberts. Because Alito has been a judge longer than Roberts, 15 years.

Great job Ken!

Reading your comments I anxiously tuned in to listen to Melhman and unfortunately there's Geraldine Ferraro spewing the same old same ole. Frankly I did a double take as her new hair do closely resembles Traficant's.

Thanks meema. Now I remember the Evan Thomas comment about two, maybe three critters in trouble over the Abramoff scandal. I was distracted but I usually like to listen to Thomas. He's cool and fair, I think.

Thanks, YaYa.
I caught a little of Gibson just before I left to come out here, and it made me so very happy too! My dvr is going on Gibson, and LARDBALL is on my TiVo, so if it's good, I'll be watching them later. I must have left just before Melman came on.
Needed a smoke...
Catch you later. :-)

I'm so sorry you missed Mehlman. I guess the reason he isn't on tv more often is so the dems can't accuse President Bush of politicizing everything. Which is a crock, because Howard Dean is all over the place doing exactly that.

About Ferrraro's bad hair day. YIKES!!! Proof positive we gals should NEVER allow ourselves to go gray. Instant aging!!! The gray was bad enough, but what about those bowl cut bangs? Her color, wrinkles, oh dear, she looks 10 years older than when I saw her last....I hope her disease hasn't gotten worse.

but what about those bowl cut bangs?

That coupled with the side burns spelled James Traficant to me.

BTW on that list of the 10 people we wouldn't miss I forgot to add Ellis Heniken (although he does make the point that we should all ignore Belafonte). I've always said we should ignore the has-beens who only get mentioned when they make outrageous statements. If we ignore them they may take the hint that their opinions matter not.

Your welcome, leadpenny. I like to listen to him too. And it was fair of him to say that only 2-3 critters could be in trouble.
Fairness from a lib is appreciated.

Ellis Heniken doesn't bother me...and I figured out why.

Because I'm so grateful it's not Neal Gabler!
