"You liberals"?
I am not a liberal. I am a conservative. I don't participate in or endorse stupid boycotts, but that doesnt make me a liberal. I guess you Christian fascists won't be satisfied until the only thing on TV is the 700 Club.
No thanks.
Aww, how Christian of you.
I never said I was a Christian.
I just really think your an idiot.
If NBC wants to depict Christ from a homosexuals world view, then Christians have a right and a responsibility to speak out against it.
And for you, some kind of atheist, I assume, to speak out against people speaking out. I just wonder what kind of political views you have.
As for you going to hell I meant that figuratively speaking.
I really just want you to piss off.
Whether you like it much or not, even fundamentalist Christians are allowed to make these same economic choices.
Christian fascists... One of them even told me to "go to hell" because I didn't agree with him that this show needs to be taken off the air.
They dont like the fact that a TV show pokes fun at their religion, yet when Muslims had a problem with Fox's "24" last season, what did they suggest? Change the channel!
Hypocrites!
Knowing the difference between "you're" and "your" would be appropriate when calling someone an idiot.
Spell this, byte me!
Really, did I personally say that?
You seem to like to lump people into easy to understand stereotypes.
You must be some kind of ignorant racist.
Did that show have an imaginary Mohammad Character? Or a Mary bleeding out the ass?
You're right, there should be a double standard.
Maybe you would feel more at home at DU.
When you have no argument left, you call me anti christian and a liberal.
Typical.
Sorry if it bothers you that I'm into the free market and really don't care for folks trying to censor what is on TV.
Spurious argument.
I've read the review of someone who has seen the pilot. If seeing something in person is a requirement for forming an opinion, go ahead and light that match if you smell gas - after all, no sense worrying about an explosion you've only been TOLD will happen, is there?
If it makes you feel any better, I quoted the review in my letter to my affiliate, and said "IF" the description below is true, please don't air the program. Any further questions?
Nice. Thanks for your support. I'm afraid you are wasting your keystrokes, however, since he seems incapable of answering directly.
Here are few thoughts.
Frankly I hate it when other's decide I cannot watch a program. Particularly when they get to see it, to review it, to slam or support it and I the viewer lose my "choice" with the "clicker" to decide if I want to invest my time in the show.
As I watched it, there were several issues that may fall to the norm of many families out there. It is sad but true. However, it stops there. They way more information then I felt was needed for the viewer in what will be a 60 minute show. Most I am sure was to inflame the sensibilities.
It is fiction. Pure and simple. Folks who will watch it, will perhaps watch it to forget their only troubles. Perhaps they will watch it, thinking, by the grace of God, that could be my family.
In the end, it is the viewer's choice to decide if they want to watch it, boycott the advertiser's and write the networks. We have options out there, but, to have the power's that be decide if this is a program worthy of us watching is just well unfair. I also doubt that it will return for another season but I have been shocked in past years what get's canned and what returns.
Finally, I am one who loves the shows of the past. The Walton's, Little House, Medicine Woman, shows that you could watch as a family. As of late the only shows I find myself making sure I watch, 7th Heaven, which has had a terrific run and this will be it's final year. The WB has actually put out several good shows. Another show, "Wildfire" which just aired it's second season is another fun show, perhaps parent's should watch it with the kids but again not a bad show.
There are many other shows out there that I frankly have no interest in watching. Nip/Tuck, The Shield come to mind on cable. On the networks, Desperate Housewives, Fear Factor, Wife Swap. However, I would not deny those who enjoy these shows the opportunity to watch them.
jmho
