Sen. John Kerry Keeps 2008 Options Open

By ANDREW MIGA, Associated Press WriterMon Jan 2, 3:55 AM ET

It's almost as if Sen. John Kerry never stopped running for president. He still jets across the country, raising millions of dollars and rallying Democrats. He still stalks the TV news show circuit, scolding President Bush at every turn.

His campaign Web site boasts of an online army of 3 million supporters.

The Massachusetts Democrat, defeated by Bush in 2004, insists it is far too early to talk about the 2008 race, but some analysts assume he has already positioning himself for another shot at the White House.

"Obviously, Kerry has all but said he wants another crack at the thing," said Neal Thigpen, a political science professor at South Carolina's Francis Marion University. "He's going to make a second try."

While most losing presidential nominees quickly fade into the political landscape, Kerry has worked hard at maintaining a high public profile.

"He's continuing the fight he began in 2004," said Kerry spokesman David Wade. "He wants to make it very clear he's a fighter who is going to continue to fight for his agenda."

Borrowing a page from Republican Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record)'s 2000 postelection playbook, Kerry has kept much of his presidential political organization intact. He has also used his fundraising prowess to aid Democrats across the country, collecting chits that could be called if he seeks the party's White House nomination.

"He believes in his heart and soul that he came just a whisker away from being president," said Ronald Kaufman, a veteran GOP operative with Massachusetts roots.

Notice how one of the first news stories from AP is a Love Letter to Kerry.

Kerry has AP in his pocket.

Help me someone. What jobs are there for Pol Sci majors? I mean what are they actually training to do other than watch TV and read the newspaper?

"He believes in his heart and soul that he came just a whisker away from being president," said Ronald Kaufman. I hope that's true. If losing by 3,012,497 votes constitutes a "whisker", I'm happy. Using Kerry math, my few grand in the bank makes me a whisker away from being a millionaire!

No, no, no, we won't get to see that Form 180, which he lied and said he'd signed. He'll never release it.

Please, please, if anyone, including the Swift Boat Vets, knows anything worse about Kerry, get it out there. Email Howie Carr at WRKO.

Hillary! is probably trying to enlist the Swift Boat Vets to run some ads.

Believe me, she won't have to.

She has enough dirt already on any potential rival. 900 purloined FBI files can be quite useful. Couple that with having the media and Holly-wierd types in her pocket and any rival will be lucky to be able to let out an anquished groan when she's through with them.

He hasn't changed. Still the same self-serving weasel he was when he filmed his so-called exploits and doctored action reports to get himself a few medals. That's what he was after, medals and the brave US soldier reputation. He came home after picking rice out of his behind, ran around looking for publicity and found it with Hanoi Jane, lied about throwing his medals over the fence, committed enough treasonous acts to fill a book, and ran for congress. Changed his address five times 'til he found a district without an incumbent. Not to mention chasing daughters of rich men and stalking rich
widows.

TV talking heads are already annointing Hill. They've said New York is The Big Cannon, no other state counts in terms of influence, votes. No other state matters in terms of Presidential politics. In fact, nobody matters but Hill. Candy Crowley on CNN a few days ago, said Hill's attempt to get the Iowa caucuses date changed was to maneuver herself an early win. Mentioned New Hampshire and Kerry's win, etc.. Crowley said a couple of quick, early wins could decide the nomination. I missed most of the discussion, but it might have been fun to watch since they were drooling about Hill's chances. I guess they suspect Iowa voters might not fancy Hill.

The lefties couldn't even stand the guy! I doubt they'll give him another chance. I wish, however, they would let him know that NOW so I don't have to listen to his sleep-inducing voice over the radio for the next 2 years.
