Make a sign that says, "This is Monday. If you are NOT dying, or have an otherwise extreme emergency, leave a message on my voice mail and I'll get back to you when I'm ready."

OK...so it won't endear you to some people...but it will make them aware that you need to get through the day in your own way...:o]

I've tried something like that. For people who are not close to me it works (somewhat).
But family is the hardest part of the equation.
