There are some subjects that are taboo in my family as well, but when I've danced around it long enough, I inevitably say what I think. I don't recommend it...I'm just telling you what I'm like... ;o] *snort*

Bob refuses to part with food for payment or promise of payment.

I can't blame Jim - he did what he needed to do to survive.
For any thinking, reasoning being... there are always options other than initiating force, fraud, or theft.

moreover, that over-applied/over-extended benign philosophy does not take into account the necessity of dealing with the incompetent, the passive-aggressive, and the indolent when they become obstructions and impediments in no-man's-land.
Eventually, even the calmest and most rational of thinking beings grows weary of dodging and weaving and halting and saying "excuse me, could you please step aside" and takes the more direct tack of forcing the obstacle out of his path by threat or application of some degree of violence.

nah... just a scam. we get dozens of them a month here in the office, mostly via phone and fax.

I think I may have watched about 5 minutes of Desperate Housewives once...maybe...
She had to have a brain operation 35 years ago and it left her a bit messed up with one leg. She's also 80 and is stubborn as all heck, so she is good.
Right now she has no way IMO to use the walker without an arm, but her daughter arrived this morning to help the mom.
I think they should just throw her into a home for three or four weeks until her arm is healed.
Her daughter lives 3 hours away and has a life.
I can see her daughter visit, but nobody has the time to carry her or follow her 24/7.
See ya, I'm getting ready to watch "24".
I can read about DH, I don't care if I watch it, but I like to be kept up with the plot.
