There is a very powerful scene in Saving Private Ryan where Adam Goldberg .... Pvt. Stanley Mellish is overpowered by a German soldier who slowly pushes a bayonet into his chest while he says, "Shsss" and then quietly walks by an American soldier humping ammo to their location.

Very cold.

The German actor, who I was unable to source, was 6.0' plus and very intimidating.

I saw that as a very realistic rendering of how tough the Wehrmacht rank and file were.

It was fiction but as real as fiction gets.
