Since many of my CoE ping list members live in New York, I thought they'd like to see this.

It would be nice if the call were taped, and Spitzer's own words were posted on the internet.

Spitzer denies that politics play a role in his office's activities. (But he is a liar)

How very 'Clinton' of him.

Spitzer's an amateur and a fool for having done this. He'd be wise to study the methods of his heroine and mentor,The Former Twelfth Lady,in the future.
As the Mafia used to say,"never write when you can speak, never speak when you can nod,and never nod when you can wink".

(Spitzer)
Mean man, I have always thought this.

A relative works for a company that got the Spitzer shakedown. There are many businesses in NY that get little media attention which have been used as his campaign slush fund. I'd rather have Hillary for governor, he is that sleazy.

Hope it's not too far off topic, but today's WSJ ran a letter to the editor re Spitzer:
. . . . One point, however, needs further emphasis: Strikes by public employees are prohibited under New York State's Taylor Law. And New York has as its chief law enforcement officer Attorney General Elliot Spitzer, a prosecutor of relentless zeal, unlimited resources and possessed of an almost extrsensory ability to detect wrongdoing. I thought Mr. Spitzer would've thrown Roger Toussaint and the rest of the TWO Local 100 leadership in jail by now. Maybe he just couldn't make it into work this week.

Spitzer is still dreaming that in 2000 years, someone will ask for a 'Spitzer salad.'

In November, the New York Daily News reported that Spitzer was using fines and settlements obtained from these prosecutions to hand out "millions of dollars to politically connected organizations that could boost his campaign for governor in 2006."How does the AG "hand out" money? Where do fines and settlement monies go and who controls it and under what guidelines?

Don't kid yourself. IF she got elected, and IF he was a woman, she would be her Attorney General.

Spitzer's a pretty skinny little guy for talking tough like this. I'd flatten him with one punch if he threatened me like that. He'd eventually learn his lesson.

I thought that was Huey Long?? I always thought that it was a Mafia saying, but it could have been Huey.Mafia members,Huey Long and The Former Twelfth Lady all are/were filthy and slimey enough to think that way.

I'm not from New York, but Spitzer seems as bad as they get. I read an interview with him, I believe in
People, where he said that he was going to make businesses conform to his idea of what the business world should be like. Not the law, but his own beliefs.
He seems the type of politician that hasn't been seen in this country for a long time and now is only encountered only in third world hellholes.
I better watch it with my opinion...

Mr. Spitzer is a Democrat, I take it.
To: Behind Liberal Lines
He did the same thing to Sean Hannity about 5 years ago while on the radio.
