The court has ruled that this strike is illegal. If Bloomberg was worth the powder it would take to blow him up, he would fire EVERYONE of the strikers and hire some people that want to work. A "million dollars" a day fine, that will never be paid ain't gonna cure the problem.

That's Pataki's job and he had better do it fast or see his dreams of running for President disappear.

Small check = homage, payoff, fear, mistake or stupidity.

I have been known to leave a $5 tip on a cup of coffee served by an attractive wench.

I thought I was the only one that thought, "She's cute...I think I'll leave her a little extra." Its shallow, but its reality.

It's a phenomenal book.

Linda Chavez was actually a union activist with the AFT, back when it was run by Albert Shanker.

He was the one who initiated the process whereby the teaching profession in was transformed from a noble vocation into a union racket.

It got perceptibly worse under his successor, the late Sandra Feldman, and reached its apotheosis under Randi Weingarten, who I'm not even sure has a Master's degree in Education, but is very good at rebuffing legitimate demands for the introduction of a merit pay scale.

In an apparent sign of solidarity with the working man, they left a $30 tip on the surprisingly modest $152 check.

Less than 20%? I routinely leave tips better than that - guess I must be a real supporter of the working man...

Well, a friend of mine has always said "Don't tip on tax!". After all, the waiter shouldn't benefit if meals are taxed higher. Also, my friend makes the point that tipping on tax is unfair to those waiters and waitresses in New Hampshire, since there's no tax in NH. (Of course, there is a fairly hefty meals tax in NH, so while I can maybe see his point, his analogy was off).

So a $30 tip on a $152 meal probably was over 20% if you don't tip on tax.

So what is Hillary saying about the strike?

She's benefitting from the money that a PAC the union donates to gave her and keeping her trap shut.

My bet is that he is an illegal alien, but Bloomberg's policy is that you can't ask that question.

Hopefully this sorry episode will sour New Yorkers on their beloved "unions" once and for all.
