Bah...the Rangers can have the black beret. I personally can't stand to wear it. Thankfully the Army is slowly realizing how retarded the whole thing was and we're now allowed to wear our softcaps around post (if we go off-post we have to don the dreaded beret). The only good side effect of the beret is the eradication of the garrison cap with the Class A uniform--gads, what a FUGLY piece of headgear that thing was.

It's kind of ironic, too--the Rangers adopted the tan beret after GEN Shinseki put out his decree, and I think the tan beret looks far better than the black one...makes me wish Shinseki had let them keep their color. Oh well.
