a U.S. lawmaker has proposed building two parallel steel and wire fences

How is it we continually follow idiots? Steel fences in an age of red light cameras??? High speed toll booths & speed trap technology that can almost smell your speed?? It's not 1945 anymore.

Also, Screw Vincente, we could care less what he says, does, thinks, or eats.

If we wanted to secure the border we would. All this grand standing and BS oneupmanship is getting old. Our politicians do not want to secure the borders. They have given us BS reasons as to why. And we're all still scratching our heads when we should be calling for someone elses!

I had something more in the line of the Great Wall of China in mind....NOW THERES A WALL. We put one of those babies up on the border with gurad towers every few hundred yards. It helped the Chinese keep out the barbarians.

Fences keep people out. Cameras and sensors record them when they're already in. Then someone has to go get them, process them, give them room and board, and probably end up turning them loose with a "notice to appear". A fence ends all that. Sometimes the low tech solution is better than the high tech solution.

We have a saying in the computer biz. Sometimes the best answer to bandwith is a van full of tapes barreling down the highway at 60 miles per hour. I'll explain that if need be.
