I am frankly quite surprised that the wording on the SIGN is spelled correctly.
Pray for the victims of liberalism.

I heard a story that the New Orleans superintendant caused a huge stir this year by announcing that school would start on a specific day in september. NO JOKE. Apparently in N.O. There is no official start of school, you are just supposed to start sometime when you get around to it in September or October. There were actually complaints from parents and teachers because he wanted to do this.

Normally, I'd agree that vouchers are a way to escape... but look at that link I posted above in #15. There is a place where you can compare schools.
All of the schools in the area are just as bad or worse.
Tragic.

That site's comparison doesn't ID school by type (public, charter, private). I'll hazard that the great majority are public (secular).
As I've said often -- if vouchers ever really happened, you'd see earthmoving equipment at a lot of churches, starting the school wings.

Supposed to be parent reviews, but I suppose that's possible.
(November 2005)
" I attended L.B. Lanry Middle and L.B. Landry Senior High. I know that I am young but I have great comments about Landry. The academic prgrams are awesome. The music department, the basketball and football teams are also great. I would do anything to go back to Landry. Parent involvement is really good at the school. I got put out of Landry in the middle of my 10th grade year. I don't care but I still would recommend anyone to put their children in that school. Landry has good teachers, brilliant students and more. "

It's easy for the parents to be involved at the elementary school... they only have to walk over from the high school. :-)

And, you have to darn near commit murder plus be seen doing it by several adults who have completed diversity training to get slammed out of public schools now.
Lets not blame the schools too much. I would suspect that the teachers spend most of their time keeping order. It is the students who are not performing. Where are the parents?

New Orleans is basically a black culture with black leaders and Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton attitudes.
You can see what liberal Democrat diversity has gotten those poor folks.

I don't know how it is in the rest of California but at my children's elementary school I am very satisfied with their education.
The principal leads the kids in saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America, UNDER GOD each morning.
She also leads them in the singing of God Bless America.
I dare anyone to sit in morning assembly, listen to these kids sing God Bless American and not have their heart strings tugged a bunch.
The school has a program called Family Friday in which parents come to school and read to their children for an hour.
The school reminds me of a throwback to schools from the fifties.
I am sure if the Godless Democrats who are currently traitors to our military ever find out about this fine school they will put a stop to any show of patriotism or respect to a higher power.
Democrats are mentally ill.
