Being from New York, its usually the folks out west that are more conservative and Republican. I'm not used to looking eastward, like you need to do in Washington state!

Yeah, I think you're thinking of the MID-WEST, maybe. You'll have a tough time explaining Kalifornia with that world-view. Washington state is split pretty much along the Cascade range. I don't think that King County Dems even know there's more state on the other side of the mountains (other than when tax-collection time rolls around).

Now, please don't let me offend you west-siders. I know it's a generalization, but it needed to be said!
