Just more complaining graduates from the University of Welfare. I think that they need t-shirts that say "Please do more for me than I am willing to do for myself....so that I can sit on my ass and complain"
During his explorations for the year 1682, French explorer LaSalle noted the existence of a Houma village along the eastern side of the Mississippi, at an area situated just across the Red River. Already in 1706, conflicts between the French and the British explorers drove the Houmas Indians to settle further south to be closer to the French with whom they had had friendly and close ties from the arrival of the very first French explorers to Louisiana. They established two new villages near present-day Donaldsonville, one village on each side of the Mississippi.
A number of these natives did stay in this region of Louisiana during the 18th century, but others settled even more southerly whey they established the new village of "Chufuhuma", exactly where is situated today the city of Houma. Arrivals of still more white settlers further pushed the Houmas to settle way down the Louisiana territory, in the marshlands along bayou DuLac, and down south as far as Golden Meadow, on bayou Lafourche.
Here, they contined their traditionnal way of farming, but to survive in these marshes, they had to find new ways of subsistance, such as hunting, trapping and even fishing, very much as many of them have found this way of life up to the present day.
