They have been doing these exercises for years. Ever since the end of the Iraq-Iran war the Iranian military has conducted annual large scale exercises.

The Iranians have been building the AH-1 Cobra - so most of them are new!

Iran also produces reverse engineered copies such as the Bell 214 and the Jet Ranger.

In fact the Iranians haven't started their annual military exercises as of yet.

The footage is from last years major military exercise conducted during the summer. Exact same snippets of F-14s, MiG-29s etc.

Ever since the end of the Iraq-Iran war the Iranian military has conducted annual large scale exercises.

It has been a traditional strategic option on the part of an aggressor to launch a surprise attack under the guise of "large scale maneuvers" near a border. This would be an opportune time for Iran to totally queer the deal as far as Iraqi elections, faltering US determination, and an immature Iraqi military, with an incursion in force across the border.

No crises today. Between the press, democrats, and the out-to-lunch public, nothing will happen until Iran bombs us.

True, but the Iranians are not that stupid. They would be attacking a sovereign nation with all the consequences that that would have. In the long term the Iranians would be the ultimate losers in any such scenario. Their military would be simply reduced in an attrition war and they no it. First to go would be their navy and air force assets and their air defence system.

The Iranians are struggling intensley to keep what mil assets operational as they are. If the current regime in Iran wants to survive then the last thing they would do is invade any part of Iraq

if you view the SAM launch sequence in slo-mo, you'll notice that the equipment panel is in english. thats interesting. whats more interesting is that the panel button says 'battery alert', and thats what is being pressed before the the shot of the gauntlet fires.

i just thoughts its funny :)

IMHO, they would want us to attack so we use nukes, so that there can be a nuclear retaliation. even if we are just using tactical nukes.

You gave me a Johnny Carson moment: "I did not know that". Maybe the Russian export people have gotten a little bit smarter since they quit being "Soviets". They used to sell their "monkey model" equipment with the Cyrillic inscriptions, and leave it to the end user to translate.
