Cindy Sheehan exposes media
campaign against her

WASHINGTON, November 30.—Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, the mother of U.S. soldier killed in Iraq, today exposed a media campaign designed to discredit her ability to mobilize U.S. citizens against the war, she revealed to Prensa Latina.

In a statement posted on the website Editor & Publicist, Sheehan stated that stories and photos published by AP and Reuters, portray a false image of her most recent action in Texas.

According to the peace movement leader, the U.S. press published a photo of her—alone—while she was waiting for people to attend the launch of her book Not One More Mother’s Child, giving the impression that it was not well received.

She also criticized The Washington Post summary of this activity, which stated that less than 100 people attended the launch; however Sheehan assured that 100 preview copies of the book were sold at the event.

She explained that her photo was taken while she was waiting to autograph books for those in attendance. She announced that $2,000 was raised for the peace cause from book’s sale.

At this event, the peace activists also unveiled an anti-war monument and held a vigil.

“We’re here to say that the killing has to stop,” emphasized Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed last year in an ambush near Baghdad.

The peace activist is one of more that 2,100 U.S. women who have lost their sons or husbands in Iraq since President Bush ordered the armed aggression in March, 2003.

Code Pink is making Cindy's college and book tour arrangements, and Code Pink founder Medea benjamin lived in Cuba for five years while working for Castro's newspaper.

Just a coincidence Code Pinko will claim...

There is weird and then there is weird. It is inconceivable how this dopey woman can complain how she has been treated by the media. We knew all along that she was a kook. I have to admit I didn't realize she was that big of a kook.

If she thinks that she has been treated badly while the MSM edited her most insane declarations she is in for a big shock now that she has insulted them. They may really start to treat her as the wacko moonbat that she has always been.

Cindy doesn't need that biased WaPo- she's bigger than the MSM and she's got the Peoples Weekly World on her side.

Medea lived in Cuba and worked for Castro's media? I never knew that. Doc, that story requires a separate post.

Another "It's just an imperialist Yankee smear" excuse in the same Cuban newspaper.

Here's a "Letter To The Editor" in the same issue with underline for emphasis:

MARADONA

• NATALIE Blanc from Argentina’s Revista Veintitrés writes to ask us about the repercussions in Cuba (in the press, on the streets and on television) to the photos published in a Mexican daily in which Diego Maradona is allegedly seen in La Pradera clinic in compromising situations; that is to say, with evidence of sex and drugs. In truth, there have been no repercussions. In Cuba, we have become accustomed to whatever pretext is used in an attempt to malign us and our press chooses not to repeat the accusations.

If $2,000 was raised for the peace cause, then perhaps you can back calculate how many books were sold.

At $20/book that would be exactly 100 books sold.

But then the book only lists for $15. At that price she would have sold 133 books.
