I have gotten way more than I deserve in the way of props.8-)

I'll take your word on that 8-)

My point though is that in most of the articles I read, the MSM gave credit to Powerline and other blogs. They assiduously avoided crediting you and FR.

it is the responsibility of critics/readers/viewers to DISPROVE them.

And she whines even when that happens.

Mapes says this replication "proved nothing, other than the fact that computers can replicate all kinds of things."

Mary, Mary, Mary. The issue is not whether or not a computer available in 2004 can replicate the documents (obviously it can). The issue is whether or not a typewriter available to an average state National Guard officer in 1973 could have produced the documents (not bloody likely).

There are comparisons of some of the letters in the memos with the Times New Roman version of the same letter at www.truthandduty.com." No such comparison appears on her site. Last week the editor of Mapes's book (Elizabeth Kieffer) told me the comparison had been removed from Mapes's site as the result of a technical glitch

"Technical glitch" as in "our attempts to finagle the pictures to look convincing didn't work out"?

Sometime while this was going on, I saw a link to a site that had these files that were apparently a work in progress.

They were not as complete as they were on the other sites where I saw them.

As I remember, it was a site where the author was trying for years to prove all kinds of things against the President.

I concluded that someone on that site was the "author" of these files.

I found on that site that Burkette was a poster.

I will search my archives where I tried to save a bunch of this stuff and see if I can find the files and any reference to the site where I found them.

Since it was commonly accepted that these were forgeries, I didn't persue where they actually came from. I figured that either it wasn't important anyway, and others probably already had the information.

If you would like any information I can find, I can email it to you.

Yes -- someone other than "a dumbass freeper" did figure it out.

Namely, a smart freeper named Buckhead. ;-)

Burkett quickly produced the documents

If he'd taken his time and done it right, they might have passed as genuine.

MIDI - SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

You better watch out...you may hear her cry
You should be aware, I'm telling you why
Mary Mapes is coming to town

She's selling her book...it's fiction for sure
Like white driven snow, she claims she is pure
Mary Mapes is coming to town

She hates the evil FReepers...Buckhead, perhaps the most
She pushed her phony documents...and her job was turned to toast

You better watch out...you may hear her cry
You should be aware, I'm telling you why
Mary Mapes is coming to town

She'll never admit what she did was wrong
And she had her job a decade too long
Mary Mapes is coming to town

She hates the evil FReepers...Buckhead, perhaps the most
She pushed her phony documents...and her job was turned to toast

You better watch out...you may hear her cry
You should be aware, I'm telling you why
Mary Mapes is coming to town

Your town...your town...your town

"The sheer size and breadth of this conspiracy is mindboggling", Mapes added.

No kidding! It was my turn to bring the coffee at the last national meeting of the vast right wing conspiracy, and believe me, it was hard keeping all that coffee service a secret from the Dems. Who has coffee for the next meeting?
