Ted Koppel is and always has been a leftists/marxists who decries, derides and hates the fundamental values and principles this nation was founded upon and that have made her great. At the sanme time as he derides and decries it, he has not problem living off the bounty it provides and makes his high rolling lifestyle possible.

He is a hypocrit and enemy within the gates of the worst sort IMHO, and I for one am glad to see him gone.

All of his pontificating means nothing.

He does not have the good sense, the patriotism, the understanding, the commitment to fundamental values, or the backbone to so much as tie the shoe laces or hold a candle to George BUsh, who, despite whateve failings has been unrelenting and committed to the War on Terror in Afghanistan and Iraq, despite the blustering and whining and out and out opposition from the likes of Koppel and his ilk.

And why not wait for the old man to just kick the bucket anyway. Heck, his sons would have stopped the WMD programs and become allies in the WOT. /sarc

Koppel doesn't remember 9/11 or the prior Muslim attacks. Well, only 'little' people died, and they don't count. Yawn. (It's all about oil...it's always been about oil. Blah, blah, blah.) If we came up with a dandelion energy formula and didn't buy their oil, they'd hate us even more. What else can they sell but sand or carpets? Not to worry, we've been told to pick up the tab for the new Palestine ad infinitum, and presumably we'll be on the hook for the rest of the lamebrain Middle East, as well. And if we get tired of pouring money into the bottomless Arab pit, there's always Africa. And South America, Mexico, Central America....

Fortunately, there will be buildings and statues in honor of RWR. And NO ONE will remember Koppel existed in 5 years.

In fact, having no clue, is a hallmark of leftists. They have a self-imposed ignorance.

Do you think the left will ever believe that it was NOT the US who was Saddam's sponsor?

No, never.

It's a meme, a shibboleth, a talking point- actually, it's an article of faith in a psuedo-religion.

In 2005, we said goodbye to Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, and now Koppel.
And it's not even Christmas yet.

The "no blood for oil" crowd is full of foul smelling flatulence.

Not only that. If it was "All about Oil" we would of invaded Venezuela and kicked out Chavez instead of Iraq. The USA getd like 6 times as much oil from Valenzuela then ALL of the Mid East.

Did Carter EVER side with the good guys? It's hard to believe that such an incompetent, anti-american could ever hold the presidency. Add Koppels career to the list of crappy things that Carter gets credit for.

"Old Ted was never troubled by the facts."

He must operate under the same rules as Dan Rather's producer (Mary Mapes): The journalist's just say things, it is up to someone else to prove the statement is not true.

True. But the bigger goal at the time was to prevent the Ayatollah from defeating Iraq and establishing another fundamentalist regime. The left argues that the US supplied arms to the terrorists (mujahadeen) in the Afghan campaign. that is true, but once again, the Soviet Union was our biggest threat at the time, not a young Osama Bin Laden.

Here's another glaring fact about what that part of the world contributes to the human race: Afghanistan produces 90% of the world's opium.

thay all stunk.

And their replacements are all out of the same mold. Doom and gloom, defeat and despair reporting (although so far Elizabeth Vargas doesn't seem as bad as the others, but I think she's only a temp). I watched NBC News once last week. Brian Williams opened the broadcast with "President Bush may have thought he could escape criticism of the Iraq war by traveling overseas, but that was not the case". What an arrogant, lying jerk. Opinion reported as news for the sheeple to lap up. To assume Dubya thought he would escape hard questions is just plain idiotic. If anyone was guilty of running overseas to escape his problems and campaign for adulation, it was Bill Clinton, over and over again.

In one year, Rather, Brokaw, Jennings and Kopel. Mainstream media has lost its leading spokemen. Rush is right we are winning, because of truth.

The problem is that Koppel was EXACTLY like all the other leftist stooges working for ABCNBCCBSCNN. If these idiots ever want to save their newscasts from complete irrelevancy, they'll hire a center-right anchor. But their idiology will not allow it.

He's a fool and a charlatan.

After 9/11, our major concern was terrorists with WMD. Look what they did with 4 airliners!!!!!! Imagine them with WMD.

Also, no one has ever looked at where the anthrax that killed several in October 2001 came from, yet Saddam did have an advanced biowar operation. Atta in Prague, Czech Republic in April 2001, meeting with Iraqi intel officers (still believed by Czech intelligence)... The first case of anthrax in Florida.... Atta and gang lived close by.... The report that Atta was seen by a pharmacist to have a bad rash on his hands shortly before 9/11, with a very sick Arab friend in tow....

None of this, of course, a concern for Ted or his "outstanding" investigative journalistic skills....

The biased media are going to get people killed with their obsessive hatred of the Right.
