Speaking of "Dark Night of the Soul," the book by St. John of the Cross is a great read.

That was my source. Perhaps the "respected" congressman Murtha should partake of quiet meditation and prayer, rather than spouting off in the halls of Congress.

It's more about feeling like God is no longer with you.
A distant cousin to the feeling would be what a soldier feels when he thinks that no one back home supports him.

Breaks my heart to think my beloved heroes may feel that kind of pain.

Murtha is just another in a long line of American traitors going back to Benedict Arnold.

"73% want pullout...I smell bovine excriment."

Nobody believes those polls. Even the Demwits who know they are phony to begin with.

Do you think the Demwits, with knowledge of a mythical 73% of the US wanting a pullout would have voted against a pullout? I rest my case.

The Demwits use polls to fool people, not see what they feel. That vote is proof positive of that.

Spin all they want. The fact remains the Cut and Run Democrats showed everyone they are all talk. The Dinosaur Media's War against Bush was dealt another stunning defeat Friday. Despite their best efforts to spin the polls to say what they WANT to say not what they really says, the Dinosaur Media's Hate America First agenda was NUKED Friday Night. Spin all they want, they cannot change a 430-3 vote as anything but a major political defeat.

Personally, I never heard of Murtha before last week.

Now suddenly he is the media's favorite military "hawk." A "hawk" would not call for a cut and run strategy. More hypocrisy from the left.

It sounds like a poorly thought out political gambit to me.

Notice he says "withdraw our troops immediately "

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec05/withdrawal_11-17.html

A Murtha interview:
(snip)
MARGARET WARNER: Finally, Congressman, do you think the fact that you as a defense hawk have now come to this position, do you think this represents a tipping point? Are you hearing from other Democrats who voted for the war that they're coming to this view themselves?

REP. JOHN MURTHA: I hope this is a watershed. I hope a lot of people think about what I've said and we can begin to withdraw our troops immediately from that area and put them on the horizon, or over the horizon, so if they have to they can go back in.

Murtha's "soul searching" is such crap. He came out against the war saying bring the troops home A YEAR AGO!

Next he will be on the floor of the House having a Voinivich cry.

These `rats are completely and utterly insane. Just what pray tell would they think would happen if we pulled out, that Ted Kennedy would drink Al-Qaeda out of existence?

Hey, I got an idea...Instead of busting their wrists by flapping that white flag every nano-second until it looks like a high powered aeronautical test fan, why don`t they try to put the pressure on the psychopaths for once who for the past 30-40 odd years had no problem attacking just about every civilian population on this planet, INCLUDING Muslims? 1,531 days since 911 and I`m still waiting for Dim-o-rats to give these animals 1/10000000th of the hell they give Bush.

Our Catholic laugh of the day.........

"I think he was going through what we Catholics call a 'long night of the soul'," said Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut.

LOL, make the "dark night of the soul"......."we" Catholics.......what a doofus this broad is.

A hawkish Democrat calls for an Iraq withdrawal

Seems that Murtha calls for withdrawals a lot.

I think that was 403-3, not 430-3 (almost 30 didn't vote either way).

Opps, dislexia strikes again. However not voting is the same as voting NO in my book. Abstaining is a cheap political trick. Abstaining is the same as NOT voting for the Amendment which would be a NO vote.
