"We've fought well." "We're helping to create a democracy." "Don't they want us to win?"
Peach, troops being demoralized when their mission is undermined is a huge problem. I think it helps when the politicians bring some history and perspective in when they talk about the war. It helped when we were reminded how long it took us to get our constitution ratified....it helped when we were reminded about the terrible cost of D-Day. And it helped when they remind us of the slaughter that happened after we left Viet Nam. The problem is they only toss out those facts once and think they will sink in.
We need a few good men and women who have the grit to say it and say it and say it. Ones to remind us often. They need to repeat the reminders. They need to accept that they will reach a few more every time they repeat the facts.
It's working for the "Bush lied" liberals.....
Well said. And how are freepers helping to turn this problem around? We're not. Because most of them are in a state of denial. So we're not being activists like we usually are.
