The issue is that Murtha and other Democrats want to cut and run because a war is going past one election cycle.

I don't even see Iraq as difficult, it just takes time to grow Iraqs new troops to do their own job, then we leave.

From the beginning, Bush said this would take a long time, would not be easy and would test the will of the American people to stand firm.

The Democrats view this war as unwinable because they see the whole area as full of religious fanatics that will keep sending more and more people at our troops until we are forced to leave.
That is their opinion, as we heard from Jordan's failed female bomber, we've blown her family and cohorts to bits. Seems leaders and long term terrorists are thinning out and that is a sign we are kicking butt IMO.

I heard a military guy being interviewed by the press yesterday and the number of Iraqi troops trained are now up to 200k.

Who made the statement this past weekend about the Democrats losing their memories and their backbones? I kept hearing it replayed and they didn't say who said it. We assume Cheney or Rummy? It is a great quote. Our here in Los Angeles they keep playing that quote over and over on KFI am radio LA.

You got that right!!!!!

From the beginning, Bush said this would take a long time, would not be easy and would test the will of the American people to stand firm.

And I remember hearing Bush say it!

Murtha is "supposely" a Vietnam experienced Marine. And he is supporting the withdrawal of the US forces immediately from Iraq? Didn't he learn what happened to Vietnam when we withdrew from Vietnam? South Vietnam fell and the Communists are ruling to this day. MEGA SIGHHH He is either a nut or has Alzheimer's!

It was timely and thoughtful when you first posted it on the 18th and it still bears a lesson for us today on the 27th. Have you seen it here?

I'm going to post it now and I hope the mods leave it up so those who missed the original will have a chance to read it today.

Yes, I knew about the Canyon News. For more than a year, that newspaper has regularly published my columns in the heart of Hollywood, Laurel Canyon, Malibu, etc. I do not double post my columns, but anyone else is welcome to post what they choose, subject to the decisions of the Admin Moderators.

I was amazed by the location of the paper! Even covering Beverly Hills!

LOL! The left coast loonies must have fits when they read your columns.

BTW, I've decided against posting it.But I sure enjoyed reading it.

The publisher of the Canyon News prints her paper for 14 particular communities in L.A., all of them upscale and heavily involved in the movie industry. She advertised on the Internet for a conservative columnist to provide some balance in her pages.

I have been writing for her newspaper for more than a year. She is quite pleased with the level of (mostly) hostile e-mail that my columns generate from her readers. I'm pleased with that, also.
