Jeez, I went out yesterday morning, was gone all day and I get up this morning, check FR and all hell seems to have busted out yesterday in DC and I missed it.

I came to the last page of this thread to try to figure it out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it would seem the House R's actually do have a backbone, remembered that they are in fact the majority party, and forced the D'rats to put up or shut up. Is that about right?

Is that about right?

In my inexpert estimation, you've summed it up.

The Democrats let one of their own (Murtha) become the spokesperson
(what with the reports of his speech in Al-Jazeera), and the House Republicans
decided to give the House Demos a golden opportunity to "go on the record".

The House Demos ingraciously reviled the Republicans for all their efforts.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Especially when you give mendacious elected officials the
chance to make crystal-clear their "aid and comfort to the enemy".

One good thing: for at least a couple hours, CSPAN2 had some sizzle.
