Think woman! It was a parody resolution. No sane person would have voted for such a transparent spoof.
PERPETUAL WAR"? Let me see if I get your logic....
I doubt you could. But I'll spell it out for you. You oppose the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. You must want them to stay indefinitely. Thus, perpetual war. That's your policy by default.
We've been in Germany and Japan for 60 years. We've been in South Korea for 50.
And the analogy is.....?
You oppose the rules of logic.
"No sane person would have voted for such a transparent spoof. "
Cynthia McKinney did, as did Wexler and Serrano.
And the whole thing WAS Murthas idea.
He did definitely say to bring the troops home immediately.
But you know that already.
And have conveniently ignored it.
"You oppose the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. You must want them to stay indefinitely."
Never argue from a false premise son.
Also, never make assumptions.
Also, your analogy is false.
The statement is not a tautology.
"You oppose the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. You must want them to stay indefinitely."
That's like saying that because someone won't own an electric car they hate the environment.
Hyperbole and rhetoric mein freund.
By what strange magic did these words become a "spoof" by being repeated back to the speaker?
If they were a spoof or stunt when repeated, there were a spoof or stunt when first uttered.
I wouldn't call this resolution a "transparent spoof." This was an attempt to get people like Murtha and Pelosi to stop their obvious use of the Iraq war to advance their shallow political self-interest. This was an effort to debate the full ramifications of a quick military withdrawal from Iraq and push House members to stop the political talk and make a strategic decision about the real world. While it was largely a symbolic vote, I think the GOP accomplished these objectives last night.
"No sane person would have voted for such a transparent spoof."
You really meant no sane demoncat would actually go on record to be held accountable for the treasonous bilge they spew didn't you?
Hey, St.Chuck, it's just politics. The Democrats have been doing a lot of jumping up and down about the war in the hope of diverting attention from the nightmare (for THEM) unfolding before their very eyes - - a roaring economy, virtually non-existant unemployment, low oil prices (I got my gas for $2.09 today!), a rising stock market.... etc.
All the Republicans did was respond in such a way as to (hopefully) bring the whole war debate to a head, cut to the chase, let it all hang out.... You know, get it behind us so we can "move on" to other important matters.
Logic is neither your forte nor your mietre, dear.
No, of course you don't imagine that I am able to grasp your "logic", but dear Chucky, that's because you really don't have any. And attempting to put words in my mouth, isn't going to help you one whit.
WHERE DID I SAY THAT I WANT OUR MILITARY IN IRAQ FOREVER?
HOW IS IT "PERPETUAL WAR" TO HAVE MILITARY STATIONED IN A NATION?
ARE WE STILL AT WAR WITH JAPAN ?
Gee, so now I make foreign policy for America? Does President Bush know about this?
Chucky, I suggest that you go ask your handlers to explain my analogy. ;^)
